Surrounded by trees and 400 acres of farmland in the Cotswold hills, Denfurlong is perfect for walkers and offers a family-friendly holiday for those who love exploring the very best that the British countryside has to offer. Venture down the old Birmingham to Southampton railway line, taking in the history and landscape, or stay on site where young children can enjoy the small indoor and outdoor play area. The on-site farm shop and café are open every day from 9am, serving breakfasts, lunches and teas. We stay open until 9pm on Thursdays for our steak and burger night, and 9pm on a Friday for our fish and chip suppers. On Saturdays, Sundays and bank holiday Mondays, join us from 8.30am for our delicious bottomless breakfasts - just what you need to set you up for the day! All our produce is sourced as locally as possible; the beef, milk, cream, yogurts and ice cream are all from our farm and made on site. Please note that we are a basic site: we don’t have a fancy, permanent facilities block yet (we’d love to be able to afford one!), but we do have a portable toilet and shower, with more available during busy periods. We like to offer our guests a ‘real’ camping experience - our field is not manicured - we like the wild flowers and butterflies. And there are no lights in the field - we like seeing the stars - so don’t forget your torch. There may be mud - it is a field after all! We don’t have washing-up facilities – think of the water you’re saving by just using a bucket. Water, refuse, recycling, and an Elsan disposal are all available. The site is an old quarry bed so is hard and level.

Local attractions

Our farm shop and café are on site stocking all our own beef, milk, cream, yogurts and ice cream from the farm. We stock local meat - from sausages and burgers, to whole legs of lamb or topside joints. Vegetables are sourced locally and come in fresh throughout the week. A few miles walk away is the world-famous Chedworth Roman Villa. On our site are the remains of the Birmingham to Southampton railway line which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and well worth a walk along. We are ideally suited for trips to the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford (seven miles away) and Cheltenham Race Course (12 miles). The historic and beautiful towns and villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bibury, Cirencester and Cheltenham are all within easy reach.
