  • Exclusive accommodation near Mablethorpe, family run for over 40 years
  • Hot tubs, lake views and 15-acre gardens
  • Two excellent fishing lakes with carp and mirrors weighing up to 15lb
Whether it's the lavishly decorated living spaces, the spotless modern conveniences, the oh-so-cosy bedrooms or the relaxing hot tubs, there is plenty of room for everyone at Grange Farm Park. The lake views, first-rate fishing, the friendly service and the close proximity to the sea are one of many feathers in the site's exceptionally feathery cap. There are piles of reasons why guests come back to use its swish facilities time and time again and consistently refer to this park as 'a home from home' (these guests must all have rather lovely homes). Family-owned and run by Ann and her family for over 40 years, the site is a small and exclusive spot set among photogenic and peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, less than 10 minutes' drive from the fun of Mablethorpe's seaside attractions and within easy reach of Skegness. Fishing at the park's two fully-stocked lakes, which lie around 50 metres from the accommodation, is completely complementary and exclusive to guests, plus there's no need for a day pass to fish in them. Reeds and bullrushes border the lakes, which are teeming with mirrors and common carp weighing up to 15lb, as well as tench and silver fish. If you're not particularly fond of fishing, then you can still thoroughly enjoy the view across the lakes and the 15 acres of gardens and countryside that surround them, as well as peaceful strolls around the park, or make use of the complimentary enclosed exercise paddock. Keeping kids entertained here is a doddle too. In fact, kids will be able to keep themselves amply entertained by playing with the farm's resident dogs, chickens and rabbits, and having some good old-fashioned outdoor fun around the grounds. For food and supplies, the site has a bar and restaurant on site. It's also within easy walking distance of the village farm shop. A short drive into Mablethorpe or Sutton-on-Sea reveals more options, or it's about half an hour to reach Skegness. It's doubtful that you'll need any more convincing as to the standard of the lodgings and facilities at Grange Farm Park, but if you do, just take a peek at its photos – they speak (read: shout) for themselves.

Local attractions

With two excellent fishing lakes on site as well as other fishing opps and a nine-hole golf course nearby, you certainly won’t be stuck for things to do between relaxing with glasses of bubbly in the hot tub and partaking in pleasant nature walks around the site's gorgeous 15-acre gardens. Should you feel the need to venture off site at any point though, the fun seaside resort of Mablethorpe is less than 10 minutes' drive away. This lovely little seaside town's award-winning golden sandy beach stretches for miles and is a great spot for families during the summer, with donkey rides and a popular sand train that departs from the town centre promenade and provides a regular service along the seafront, dipping in and out of the shallow water and stopping at intervals along the way. For a really grand day out with the kids in Mablethorpe, add the seal sanctuary and wildlife centre into the mix – you'll get to see not only rescued seals but also primates, reptiles, birds of prey, meerkats and aviary birds, and if you're lucky enough to visit on a quiet day you might even get to feed the seals yourself. When it comes to animal spotting in the wilderness, Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve and Gibraltar Point are both a short drive from Grange Farm Park and make for excellent birdwatching territory among their sandy, muddy seashores, sand-dunes, salt marshes and freshwater pools – just be sure to bring your binoculars and pack up a picnic to make a good day out of it. Over in the friendly coastal village of Sutton-on-Sea (about the same distance away from base as Mablethorpe), there's an excellent sandy beach that's good for peaceful seafront strolls and long dog walks out of peak season; if you're after somewhere a little livelier, however, then good old Skeggy is half an hour's drive away – plenty of shops, eateries, arcades and funfair rides – as well as a theatre showcasing big tribute acts, West End musicals, dramas, pantos and skating and dance shows – make this a pretty popular spot for families visiting the area. Also within easy reach of Grange Farm Park there's Fantasy Island theme park, Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and the antique fairs at Horncastle, Cadwell Park racing circuit and the Manby Motorplex, all around half an hour's drive away.
