  • Peaceful working farm site surrounded by Lincolnshire grazing fields
  • Within easy reach of Newark, Lincoln, Grantham and Nottingham
  • Option of ordering full English or continental breakfasts
Huge spacious pitches and open fields await at this back to basics site in rural Lincolnshire, in a handsomely historic location between ancient Lincoln and the old market towns of Sleaford, Newark and Grantham, and within easy reach of the lights and sights of Nottingham. Adjoined to a working farm, this site is in a peaceful spot and secluded setting, surrounded by countryside a short distance from the River Witham. Rectory Farm is shaded by mature trees and has spacious grassy pitches among a field surrounded by hawthorn hedges. Guests are welcome to choose a pitch under the shade of mature trees or out in the open. The site owners give you the option of ordering full English or continental breakfasts, so no need for camping stove faff in the morning if you'd rather get up and out for your days of sightseeing. On the amenities front, toilets, showers and a washing-up area are all available for guests' use. As this site is on a working farm, there'll often be tractors and trailers trundling up and down the farm track during harvest time in August and September until around 9pm.

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Go there to find the pitches were waterlogged so was told by the daughter because the owner wasn't there to put our van on a grass verge where there was heavy machinery etc as was a working farm. We asked if we could park on the concrete as the plot was dodgy to be told no.. Well an hour and half after turning up our caravan was well and truly stuck and my car then got stuck trying to retrieve the van. The jockey wheel had sunk into the turf and we were worried we were ripping up the grass. Terrible start to the weekend and stress levels were peaking.. The owner came back from hairdressers with colour bag on her head all apologetic saying she should have ideally rang us to cancel our weekend but said she'd left instructions with the daughter not to put us on the grass🙄.. All the stress could have been avoided. We said we weren't staying there and luckily got into another site.. But with all the messing around it was 6pm by the time we'd got sorted instead of 3pm. Site owner had to pull van off with a manatee and said if we return when it gets better we can have a free weekend but don't think we will bother. Worst experience I've ever had to endure in all my years of touring.

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: 5* just isn’t enough. What an amazing place. So peaceful, and quite just what we wanted. Due to heavy rain our pitch was moved from the regular grass caravan pitch to an area the side of the farm house. Didn’t bother us actually we love’d the fact that the baby calf’s would walk past and pear in through our awning. Clare, and her husband the owners are so welcoming and friendly. Ensuring that we had everything we needed and knew where everything was. There is 1 toilet and 1 bathroom but didn’t bother us. The shower is lovely and hot with plenty of space to get changed and keep your clothes dry with plenty of books and a chair. Clare, also took the time to show us round the farm and her animals. Explain a bit about farming life. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. We most definitely will be back. Thank you so for hosting us Cat and Rob xx

From the manager: Thank you for such a positive review under such testing circumstances, my calves should not really be running round the farm but they get through the feed barriers! by now they should be in the field but unfortunately too wet!

Willow Tree non-electric grass tent or touring caravan pitch (large)

Liked: Beautiful rural farm with acres upon acres of fields surrounding. Friendly owner greeted and welcomed and offered us plums from the trees. As described it is a very active working farm and young son loved the constant movement of farm vehicles and seeing the cows. We had very heavy rain fall one night and there was good drainage and evidence of flat pitches and woke non the wiser of how bad the rain was.

Disliked: 1x toilet and 1x shower and 1x sink for everyone at the campsite. We had 6x pitches filled when we were there and so always encountered a queue. Nothing was cleaned or replenished during our stay of 3 days and on arrival it was obvious it hadn't been done for quite some time prior. Toilet paper ran out on first day (thankfully we brought our own) Reading back through years of reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence during "harvest season" as the farm must take priority. Which is understandable. Therefore I'd suggest owners leave a small supply of cleaning products and loo roll and a mop/broom and a note to say, farm can sometimes get very busy so to help yourself on cleaning up before/after use. And text this number if things run out. Or made it known that guests are suggested to bring their own products to clean the toilet/shower and own toilet paper hand towels etc. Also could do with some signage to show where the campsite is as, like other reviews we drove up near the farm and got lost. Thankfully someone found us and guided us to where we were going.
