  • Well-presented site on a public footpath in rural Lincolnshire
  • Market Rasen and Lincoln city centre both 20 minutes' drive
  • Laundry room, information kiosk and dog exercise area
In need of some peace and quiet? Then look to Lincolnshire Lanes, a well-maintained spot in the centre of this gorgeous county. Surrounded by the splendidly peaceful English countryside and within 20 minutes' drive of all the attractions in Market Rasen and Lincoln city centre, this site really does have access to the best of both worlds. What is it like, then? Well, the first thing you'll probably notice is the size of the site – neither too big nor too small, and spread across well-drained, green and level land. Next, you'll probably turn to inspect the facilities – equally impressive, with a cosy kids' play hut, a laundry room and washrooms that are all very handy to have. Kids should find plenty of room to play outdoors, with Lincolnshire Lanes supplying goals and play equipment (ball games are allowed in the games area of the family field). As well as that, there's a den-making area and a craft and play hut. Bushcraft and forest school workshops run throughout the summer too (get in touch with the site team for more details). Dog owners, meanwhile, will likely appreciate having the site's small dedicated dog-walking area and easy access to footpaths. There's also an outdoor area for washing dogs and muddy boots. And nature fans? The trees on one side of the field are often frequented by local wildlife, so see what you’re able to spy over there. This family-run site is also a good pick for wild explores away from base, as it's located in a top spot for visiting the wild green spaces of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Getting out to roam is easy as the main field sits on a public footpath (which also happens to lead to a great local pub about 40 minutes' walk away). The site is located on the edge of the hamlet of East Firsby, so for shops and eats, you're closest to Welton, five minutes' drive away.

Sir Arthur Sims Log Cabin 3 bedroom cabin

Liked: Absolutely stunning. Arthur Sims cabin is truly spectacular. They've thought of everything. Gate on the front decking meant our toddler had complete freedom to roam. Was a magical stay and I've already booked our return visit.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing

Rally Field non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Really enjoyed our stay over bank holiday weekend. Though it was fully booked, the pitches weren’t cramped together at all. Will definitely go back again. Also love that they have a freezer to re freeze ice blocks that you can collect/swap/ twice a day when reception opens

Disliked: Really could do with a refresh, especially the children’s play area and ‘craft’ shed, it’s looking very tired but still works

Conifer Corner Pitch electric grass pitch

Liked: We had an excellent stay, Vicky was super helpful in answering all my questions and organising the group/vehicles etc.The facilities were clean and well looked after, we had everything we needed!

Disliked: The showers require 20p to switch on, which is fine - but cash is rare these days and we were scrabbling around trying to find 20 pence pieces between us 😅

Conifer Corner Pitch electric grass pitch

Liked: We stayed in conifer corner and it was a lovely little quiet pitch. There is a lovely wooded area where the kids can do bushcraft and see the rabbits on a night time. The toilet and shower block was cleaned regularly and the staff are all friendly and polite. The kids loved it as there is a little play area on the next field. We all had a great time and have booked again for next weekend.

Main Field electric grass pitch

Liked: We stayed for 1 week on the rally field it was our first time here. Everything was fantastic the staff was very friendly and helpful the facilities were very clean and well stocked. Only thing was the hot water for washing up was not constant but nothing a boiled kettle won't sort. It was very peaceful down on the rally field will be coming again. Oh I even had a visit from a frog in the toilet one night which was amazing to see. The shop wasn't open for long but on the other hand the owners and staff had other things to do. Thank you all so much ❤️

Disliked: Just didn't like all the wasps we had so many it was not anyone's fault just remember your fly spray and fly swatter you will be fine.

Rally Field non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Myself and my teen daughters loved this site, it was so peaceful and well kept. Den building area was lovely idea. The weather was perfect and as it was a clear sky at night we sat stargazing and saw some some amazing shooting stars.

Main Field electric grass pitch

Liked: Electric hookup

Disliked: The site seemed poorly maintained, we never saw the site managers or owners, the water to wash hands in the toilets was freezing and not warm and then it stopped working. The park seemed like it was falling apart and needed renovating. Im sure this could be a brilliant site but it isn’t one we will be returning to.

Rally Field non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Clean, quiet site, large level pitches with plenty of room for the young ones to play, friendly & helpful staff, allowed real fires, clean toilets & hot showers, Excellent location

Disliked: Nothing really, small flying things were a nuisance but it was harvest time so no surprise. Needs more showets ( only 2 per sex) but this is in the planning

Local attractions

Here for the historic sites? Search for the historic Lincoln imp statue hidden within Lincoln Cathedral (20 minutes' drive). The coast? Take a trot on the beach at Cleethorpes (45 minutes) or see how you fare with watersports in Skegness (an hour and five minutes). The races? Market Rasen Racecourse is only 20 minutes’ drive away too. It may be that you’re looking to meet a few animals too. Rand Farm Park (20 minutes) has animals such as donkeys, pigs and lambs (when in season), while Hall Farm Park (25 minutes) has other creatures like ponies, goats and llamas. Woodside Wildlife Park 20 minutes) is a little on the wilder side; animals like penguins and tigers reside there. If you’d rather or test out your wildlife spotting skills out in the world, the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (20 minutes) is the place for that.
