  • Fishing site on the outskirts of Skegness
  • Several well-stocked fishing lakes with quiet lakeside spots
  • Modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers
What a serene Skegness spot... Mega relaxing Roach Farm Park is close to the amusements and sands of Lincolnshire's busiest seaside resort, but you wouldn't know it from its peacefully pretty location, set in green countryside and with scenic fishing lakes right on site. The several well-stocked lakes here are all available to guests for a small fee – and if you aren't angling after fishing, there are plenty of placid spots around the lakesides to settle down at with book, tablet or your very own thoughts. Site facilities are sorted at the modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers. Skegness is a 10-minute drive away; if you'd rather leave the car behind, a bus stop is just outside the site.

Liked: Good hardstanding pitches with lovely views. Easy check in. Felt safe due to barrier at the entrance. Heated toilet/shower block nice for out of season.

Disliked: No washing up sinks. Fairly close to a busy main road so traffic noise was constant.

Liked: The pitches were well equipped and spacious. Toilet block very warm with plenty of hot water. Well placed for public transport into Skegness and Lincoln.

Disliked: Toilet blocks only cleaned once a week. Would be good to have a washing up area and laundry facilities.

Local attractions

Most folk coming to these parts angle to get to Skegness first, the famed seaside town with sandy beach, pier, many amusements and evening entertainment in clubs, bars and the Embassy Theatre. The Natureland Seal Santuary is in town too if you/the kids want to see some local nature; to see seals in the wild, the Donna Nook Natural Nature Reserve covers over six miles of salt marsh coastline between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet. Around Skegness are Ingoldmells, most visited for its theme park Fantasy Island and its big indoor market, open seven days a week; the beach huts and sands of Sutton on Sea are to the north, and there's more of the same, along with another seal sanctuary, at Mablethorpe. Roach Farm Park is also a short drive from the traditional pubs and family-run shops of Lincolnshire town Burgh Le Marsh.
