  • Dog-friendly site three miles from Huttoft beach
  • Bus service right outside to the Lincolnshire seaside towns
  • Play area, well-maintained grounds and spotless amenities
A bonzer beach awaits within easy driving distance of Country Meadow Caravan Park, near Sutton on Sea – and if you’ve brought the pooch with you, they’ll be as happy on this hol as, well… a dog with a bone. Dog-friendly Huttoft beach (aka Moggs Eye), under three miles away, has miles of sand on which your dog can happily go quite bonkers, while the humans amuse themselves in or near the water: this award-winning sandy stretch is a safe surfing and sailing spot and a good catch for sea anglers. It’s usually pretty quiet too – a nifty little factoid to remember when the Lincolnshire seaside bustles in the summer months. Quiet family-run Country Meadow Caravan Park is also dog-friendly: canines might also approve of the dog walk nearby, the frequent visits of the ice-cream van and the takeaway outlets that deliver direct to the site… For humans, Country Meadow has level grass pitches among meticulously-maintained grounds; amenities (toilet block, showers, laundry and disabled toilet) are kept spotlessly shipshape. Kids are catered for with a play area and all is kept safe and secure on site with the use of barrier access. A bus to the seaside seems like a jolly good idea too, especially if it goes right past the site: catch the bus outside Country Meadow to Sutton on Sea and from there to Mablethorpe, Skegness, Ingoldmells and inland to Louth and the Lincolnshire Wolds. The site is two miles from Sutton on Sea's town centre for local shops, pubs and seaside chippies.

Electric optional grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: we were pitched near the park so we could see the children from the caravan and we wasn’t conscious they were going to be to loud for the older people on the site toilets and washing up area was very clean at all times owners were very nice and we got a key ring at the end of our stay

Disliked: having to pay 50p for the showers which was a bit of a nightmare when we had already payed £25+ a night although the owners always had change if we didn’t have any also had to pay for wi-fi which was quite expensive then didn’t even work also quite a lot of noise from the campsite next door as we backed onto the clubhouse there was quite a lot of foul language from some of the children i had to tell them to stop swearing at one point

From the manager: Thank you for visiting our site. We are sorry about the noise coming from the site next door. If you had mentioned it during your stay we could have spoken to our neighbours about it, although we could not guarantee if they would do anything about it. The WiFi is provided through Camping Connect, a separate company and they set the charges not us. The service does not involve our business and all payments are sent to them. Again if you had mentioned it during your stay we could have contacted them on your behalf to see if an engineer could come and check the system and assist you. We are a rural and coastal located site and as Open Reach has said in the past, we are too far from the exchange to have a fast internet speed. This is quite common in rural areas. 50p for a shower which lasts for 10 minutes. This price is stated in the pricing list under additional charges. You do not have to use them if you don't agree with the charge. Caravans are fitted with their own facilities. I am sorry if this appears to be having a grumble at you, but it is intended to answer the comments that you have made so that others reading this know that if they tell us their problems whist still on site we will try to help rectify them. It's no help to you or us if you don't tell us during your visit. Just complaining through your review after the event, is not helpful to anyone.

Liked: When I read the reviews for this site I was in two minds about booking, if you are the same can I please tell you that We have NOTHING but good things to say about the site and the owners. Firstly the site is very very clean and well cared for. Yes it is near a main road but even though we were parked near it, it wasn't a problem, and No we are not deaf..the signs in the shower /toilet blocks were NOT rude just to the point. The play park was locked for safety reasons but opened up apron request. As for the owners, what can We say they went above and beyond. My Husband Had an accident and required an ambulance they let us use their phone a number of times and stayed up until 12.30 am to let them in and out. The dogs are there as guards and only barked when we entered the site they are in their own enclosure and very safe and not threat to anyone on the site. As for payment for the showers! 50p for a long hot shower is nothing.

Liked: Easy access from main road very clean

Disliked: Had pay £7 for my daughter and husband to visit for a couple of hours

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: If you had read the terms and conditions before ticking yes, you would have known that visitors are charged and the price that they will be charged. If you were to be stopping at Butlins or another establishment like that, would you expect them to let your daughter and husband and grandchildren in for free. You came and asked about them visiting you and was told about the price to be charged, so they had the choice come to site or meet with you else ware. When you arrive at site you are given a reminder list of general rules and common-sense, which clearly states that we charge for visitors so it should not have come as a surprise to you. If you have something to complain about, the least you should do is check first what you are complaining for as in this case all you are doing is proving that you did not read or understand the terms and conditions stated when booking just ticked yes i have read the T & C's. We know that we can't please everybody but to complain about something that is clearly stated what else can we say. Our site may not be to everybody's liking, so just because you didn't doesn't mean others wont.

Would definitely stay again.

Electric optional grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Very clean and tidy site, nice and quiet. Friendly owners. Toilet and shower block very clean and tidy also. It's a lovely small site with a little park for the children.

Disliked: Slightly boggy pitches however this couldn't be helped as had bad weather before we arrived. Also slightly remote and not able to walk into the town with the kids, (maybe adults would however our children would not have made it there and back!!) however not far to drive into Sutton-on-Sea, Mablethorpe, Chapel St Leonards etc.

Local attractions

Country Meadow Caravan Park is within easy driving distance from the main Lincolnshire seaside towns (Skegness, Ingoldmells and Mablethorpe). Mablethorpe is the smallest of the three but still has days’ worth of seaside fare to dip into, such as its award-winning miles of sandy beach and sand train, a funfair and donkey rides (to see more donkeys, Huttoft is home to the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary). From the beach, shuffle over the dunes to get to the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary or head to more seals at Natureland in Skegness – here there be penguins and tarantulas and many more creatures alongside the seals. For their wilder cousins, aim for Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, 10 minutes’ drive south. Like a lot of the Lincolnshire coast, birds are abundant here: use the reserve’s network of paths around the dunes, marshes and lagoons to see wading birds and wildfowl. And then to Ingoldmells, home of theme park Fantasy Island and Europe’s longest looping rollercoaster… It’s also the home of a mammoth seven-day indoor market to buy the best bargains; if the dog gets bored, mollify him/her with a leg stretch along Ingoldmells beach, also dog-friendly.
