Local attractions

Stratford-upon-Avon A town synonymous with William Shakespeare. A visit to Stratford-upon-Avon introduces you to a market town with more than 800 years of history containing not only many buildings that survive to-day and would have been familiar to Shakespeare, but also a thriving community offering a wide variety of leisure and shopping experiences. West Midlands Safari Park This extensive Safari and Leisure Park covers an area of some 200 acres. It is targeted at family entertainment and visitors get the chance to drive through the Safari Park and then spend time at the Park's amusements. An armband is issued so that there is no individual queuing necessary to pay for the rides. This is a good place to spend a day with the family although it can get very busy and crowded in peak season and at weekends. Severn Valley Railway The SVR is a full-size standard-gauge railway line running regular steam-hauled passenger trains for the benefit of visitors and enthusiasts alike between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of 16 miles. Malvern Hills The Malvern Hills have been described as a mountain range in miniature, the eight mile ridge containing some of the oldest rocks in Britain, their craggy outline giving the impression of uplands further west. They were good enough for Mallory to come and walk in preparation for Everest whilst staying with colleagues at Malvern College. Evesham Country Park At Evesham Country Park you can enjoy shopping in a relaxed atmosphere. In our courtyard shops, extensive garden centre and Millets Farm Shop you’ll discover a wide variety of goods with a bargain around every corner. There is plenty of free parking, and when you’ve finished bargain hunting you can stroll around the 130 acre estate which has some of the most picturesque scenery the Vale of Evesham has to offer, including a mile and a half of the River Avon.
