  • Family site on the River Severn, 10 minutes’ drive from Great Malvern
  • Malvern Hills and Worcester 15 minutes’ drive; Tewkesbury 20 minutes
  • Playground and on-site fishing; clubhouse with carvery and Sky Sports
Fancy waking up to expansive views of the spectacular Malvern Hills? Then Riverside Caravan Park might just be the place for your next holiday. This peaceful site sits on the banks of the River Severn, 10 minutes’ drive from Great Malvern and 15 minutes from Worcester. The site is well equipped for families: children can let rip in the play area, climb trees or make friends with the resident farm animals, and there’s a dog park for the four-legged members of your clan. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can relax with a spot of riverside angling or by taking in the splendid views of the Worcestershire countryside. The on-site clubhouse puts on a diverse range of events, from quiz nights to bingo and live entertainment; it also has a big screen tuned to Sky Sports, for the happiness of those who just can’t stay away from their Saturday footie. The clubhouse serves meals, too, including traditional Sunday roasts, or you can explore the local pubs: the nearest one is a five-minute drive away (or a 25-minute walk). On the other hand, if you prefer to fire up the barbecue, you’re more than welcome to do so here. Great Malvern is your best bet for provisions, with independent shops and a choice of supermarkets. Among other amenities here are heated toilet and shower blocks (including facilities for disabled guests), a launderette and a washing-up area.

Electric grass pitch (sloping)

Liked: This was our second time returning… and we can’t wait to come back already! Staff on arrival were the kindest, most helpful couple, nothing was too much trouble. We had a beautiful spot with electric point and water tap. Facilities were always spotless (showers/toilets), grounds are beautifully maintained. Washing machine and tumble dryer available for use. Club house onsite service food, with bingo at 9! Everything you could want from a campsite and more! Cannot wait to come back! Nikki & Mark Archer

Disliked: Can’t fault it!

From the manager: Thank you Nikki & Mark for your lovely review, photos are amazing and the cute alpacas next door at Alpaca Meadows do a great full English breakfast Wed to Sun hope you managed to have one. Come and see us again soon. Kind regards from the team Anna, Mark, Zena, Shaun

Non-electric grass pitch (sloping)

Liked: Facitlities good and clean. Great dog walking area. Staff friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Sloping location bit I was lucky to have a fairly level pitch. Electric pitch was an extra £15 per night.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your nice comments Debi. We try hard to ensure that our facilities are cleaned often as our customers health and wellbeing are a priority to us all. Yes the dog field is a wonderful place for the dogs to let off steam and enjoy the place in their own way , free and happy, take a coffee up to the top next time you are here and enjoy the sunset sitting on the bench set almost under the tree there. Thank you again from all the team. Anna, Mark Shaun and Zena.

Electric grass pitch (sloping)

Liked: Friendly welcome. Spotlessly clean showers/toilets. Showers were really good, plenty of hot water & powerful. Two showers in each but no wait to use them. Very well kept grounds. Dog friendly. The pitches are on an incline so levellers are needed. EHU & water at each pitch which is convenient. A great location for exploring the local area. Lots of nice walks. Close to the Malvern Hills. Had a lovely lunch in The Olde Anchor Inn in Upton upon Severn.

Disliked: No WiFi. The price was at the higher end of our budget (we paid £160 for 4 nights in September 2 adults & 1 dog in a campervan). For the price, I would expect WiFi but this is the first time we’ve stayed in this area & we appreciate that this may be the norm. The timer on the shower in the ladies shower room was for only 60 seconds. I stuck my hand out through the shower curtain & gave a wave under the sensor & it came back on again. It was a little annoying. Maybe the timer could be adjusted? Minor issues that would not prevent us from staying here again

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Stephanie for your great review, we will take a look at the light sensor in the ladies showers and see if it can be adjusted. Hope to see you again soon. Kind regards from the team Anna, Mark, Zena, Shaun

Local attractions

Head to Worcester, where you can gaze up at (and feel dwarfed by) the Gothic vaults of the centuries-old cathedral (home of the tomb of medieval King John); learn all about porcelain at the Museum of Royal Worcester; and check out the walled garden at Greyfriars House. If you’re itching for a hike, there are plenty of trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 minutes’ drive), including circular walks taking in a spectacular landscape of woodland, pastures and orchards. There are also self-guided themed walks focusing on wildlife, the famed water springs or local literary connections. Stretching on the banks of the River Avon, the historic town of Tewkesbury (20 minutes) is renowned for its 12th-century abbey, with its splendid stained-glass windows and ornate ceiling. The Tewkesbury Museum, in a half-timbered building, is home to a vast diorama (with a cast of over 2,000 characters) illustrating one of the key battles of the War of the Roses, the Battle of Tewkesbury, which took place on the outskirts of the town in 1471.
