  • Peaceful adults-only site in the Worcestershire countryside
  • Half an hour's drive from Bredon Hill Nature Reserve and the Cotswolds
  • Half an hour from Stratford-upon-Avon and an hour from Birmingham
Where you can reach hills and rivers, nature reserves and safari parks, stately homes and buzzing multicultural cities, all within easy day trip distance? Step forward, Worcestershire. That’s partly why the proprietors of White Hall, an adults-only site 20 minutes from Pershore, have been busily hosting visitors for the past 40 years. It’s also because, with nigh-on half a century’s experience, the team keep this place in tiptop condition. Happy guests of White Hall, some of whom have been coming back year on year for decades, mention the clean facilities, the abundance of dog-walking paths nearby (furry friends are welcome on the site, of course…), the warm reception at The Boot Inn, half an hour’s walk away, and most of all, the peace. Being adults-only helps, of course… as does being surrounded by trees and fields for miles around. For further immersion in nature, it’s just under five minutes’ drive to Grafton Wood Nature Reserve, an ancient broad-leaved woodland visited by buzzards, woodpeckers and a myriad of colourful butterflies. If you're more content when contemplating the waters and waiting for a bite, there are well-stocked fishing pools, 20 minutes’ and half an hour’s drive away.

Local attractions

Walks and wildlife spotting are number one attractions in these parts: Bredon Hill National Nature Reserve, half an hour’s drive away, is a distinct area of pastured woodland that’s forever changing due to landslip, so the resident bird and bug populations shift along with it. Whitethroats, linnets and yellowhammers keep visiting for breeding purposes, and the views across the Cotswolds are constantly cracking. For wildlife more exotic, take a drive through the West Midlands Safari Park (40 minutes' drive), or head deeper into Cotswolds country for a visit to Birdland (an hour), home of some 5,000 feathered friends, including pelicans, parrots and storks. Partial to a stately home or two? See how the other half lived at the grand 18th-century piles of Croome and Hanbury Hall (25 and 40 minutes), wandering lavish interiors and landscaped parklands. If you’re a fan of the bard, sally forth to Stratford-upon-Avon half an hour away to see Shakespeare’s birthplace, Ann Hathaway’s Cottage and maybe take in one of the plays William penned, at the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre. For a total contrast, the city of Birmingham is just under an hour away, well-stocked with stuff to do and see, including the Thinktank science museum, tours of the Jewellery Quarter and its museum, shows at the NEC and sweet encounters at the chocolate factory Cadbury World.
