  • Quiet, relaxed site on 35 acres of land with a private 15-acre lake
  • A 20-minute drive to the Yorkshire coast and half an hour to Hull
  • Pizzeria restaurant, wifi, fishing and bar with an outdoor terrace
Get to Greengrass Park for a peaceful break in East Yorkshire countryside – this static holiday home and touring caravan site has noise and safety policies in place to keep its ambience serene. The quiet vibes mean that it’s a calm setting for a spot of fishing at the 15-acre private lake. Non-anglers, meanwhile, can sprawl out in a grassy area for a bit of a chillout session or make a beeline for nearby coastal towns like Hornsea (20 minutes’ drive) and Bridlington (half an hour). Heading to Hull (30 minutes) for the shopping, museums and aquarium also comes much recommended. Pick up essentials in Brandesburton and Leven, a couple of villages around three miles away with supermarkets, a butcher and a deli. For meals, your options include a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, an award-winning fish ‘n’ chip shop and friendly pubs. Not that you’ll need to go far for food: the site has a restaurant and pizzeria as well as a pub serving ales, draught beers, spirits and wines with an open-air terrace looking out across the lake. There’s also free wifi – fab for figuring out which attractions to amble around in the local area.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Nothing about the site as we didn't stop.

Disliked: Everything as the site was not as the picture showed on the internet. There has no paper work to say we were coming. They tried to put us on a pitch that was not big enough as we could have cleaned the Windows of the next unit.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The lake was nice and relaxing.

Disliked: The lack of facilties near my pitch, the bins and ablutions were on the other side of the lake, and also the showers on my side were boarded up, the site is mainly seasonal which is fine but made the place look untidy, I left early in the morning so left my fob in a safe place and notified the management to where I left it but still no deposit payed back.

P1 electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (lake view)

Liked: Clean Toilets but old Lovely bar with excellent food. very pleasant staff Super pitch next to lake Fair price for pitch Options of fishing pitch whilst camping

Disliked: Terrible for fishing, which was our prime reason for going. very weedy from pitch. Too much rubbish in lake witch keep snagging lines. Lots of lost rigs. manager said hubby could move to any pitch, sadly a long walk and just as bad Toilets and showers out dated, although spotlessly clean. No electric point for hair dryer Wifi wouldnt load TV struggled to load a signal. Wernt warned about very loud Geese. Frightened the life out of us on 1st night ( was funny)

Local attractions

Browse Beverley’s traditional market on a Saturday or swing by this town at any time to take in the Gothic minster and catch the horses hightailing it around the racecourse (20 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth setting off towards Skirlington Leisure Park for the famed car boot sale held on Sundays (outside of January) and to stroll through 70 acres of landscaped countryside leading down to the East Yorkshire coast. Further north (around an hour) is the edge of the North York Moors National Park, where rural police show Heartbeat was filmed, and the location of well-known seaside towns such as Scarborough and Whitby (an hour and an hour and a half, respectively). Spend time on the former's sandy beaches before roaming the ruined Gothic abbey – the inspiration for the novel Dracula – in the latter. Another famed urban settlement not to miss is the ancient city of York (an hour and 10 minutes) with its cobbled streets, Viking history and clutch of excellent independent boutiques. Walk along ancient walls circling the buildings, poke around a 13th-century Gothic cathedral with medieval stained glass and bell towers, then meander to the Monk Bar gate for an exhibition on the infamous King Richard III.
