  • Adults-only, dog-friendly site 15 minutes’ drive from York
  • Clifton Moor shops five minutes’ drive; Castle Howard half an hour
  • Café on site for breakfasts, sandwiches and afternoon teas
Those who wish to experience the attractions of the city of York while also waking up to the sight of endless green fields and dense woodland should consider staying at Willow House Caravan Park. From this peaceful, adults-only site (over 18s only), it’s a 15-minute drive to reach York Minster – that’s pretty handy, right? Even handier, though, is letting someone else do the driving into the city: you can catch a bus at the end of the drive. What’s more, you’re only a five-minute drive from Clifton Moor Retail Park, with its supermarkets, stores and entertainment options for rainy days (a multiscreen cinema and ten-pin bowling among them). But what about the site itself? In addition to two wildlife ponds – where you can stroll along looking at the ducks as they swim in and out of the bullrushes – there’s a café serving huge cooked breakfasts, sandwiches and wraps, all made with locally sourced produce. Oh, and afternoon teas with home-made cakes and other sweet treats. Your four-legged companion is a welcome guest here, and you can take them (or yourselves) for a walk through Westfield Wood (at the back of the site). Back on site, you'll be able to use the wet room and washing up area on site, as well as extra facilities near the café, which include showers and toilets (including facilities for disabled guests), plus a laundry area.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: This site is a base with easy access to York. £2 per person on the the bus. No service on a Sunday. Take a stroll to the local Pub. Take your wellies and have a laugh the mud is quite thick. Toilets and Shower block warm and spacious. Theres quite a few seasonal caravans sited (some could do with a clean and tidy up... lets the site down) so you just find a space and pitch up. Onsite cafe.... lovely peole lovely food and a very popular place. 10/10 for the breakfast. Site was very wet in places but considering the amount of rain its not surprising. Overall happy. Its what you make it.

Liked: Bus stop at end of the site straight into York, taxis will also pick you up from there.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The onsite cafe was really good The pitches are large and all hard standing The information hut is a good idea about the local area Pub 40 mins walk away the Black horse gorgeous food The site is close to a shopping area

Disliked: We found it hard to fill up with water in our motorhome. The water taps run all down the middle of the grass a distance from the hard standing. The site was waterlogged in places due to all the resent rain So we couldn't drive on grass to get water Bring a long hose to connect to tap
