Liked: This site is a great base for travelling around north yorks or enjoying a very quiet get away, outside the school holidays. We chose the travel & visited Scarborough which I would describe as a small Blackpool with the usual arcades & Knick knack shops that we did stroll around but our main reason for visiting was to go up Oliver’s Mount race track to enjoy the views & a breakfast at Oliver Mounts cafe, which was lovely & worth the experience. We also went to Helmsley a Yorkshire town which is worth a little stroll around with a few pubs & cafes, but not many shops to browse. We then visited Malton, a market town reknown as the foodie town of Yorkshire & it didn’t disappoint we ate at cafe Forty Six & it was immaculate & the food was beautiful & well priced & set in the heart of the quaint market square. I must add to this review, that if any of you want an amazing al a carte meal, without the snobbery & very affordable at a very friendly village pub, then don’t pass by the Baytree inn in a lovely village called Stillington, about 4.4 miles from York Meadows site. If you’re planning to eat in then make sure you bring your own provisions as not much around big shop wise without a good drive out. You can get pizza delivered if you like though.
Disliked: It’s an observation really for pitch up. We were sent our receipt with a pic of the pitch which sold it as a gravel & grass , however the pitches reserved for pitch up are just gravel pitches which was not a problem for us but could be for others.
