The traditional holiday resort of Whitley Bay is within easy reach of the caravan park and boasts a superb sandy beach and indoor leisure pool complex. Local transport is highly accessible from Old Hartley Caravan Club Site - the Metro and regular local buses will take you directly into the heart of Newcastle city centre, popular for the shopping in Eldon Square. A short journey across the River Tyne will take you to Gateshead, where you can discover the many attractions at the Metro Centre, Europe's largest indoor shopping centre which includes restaurants, cinemas and loads of entertainment facilities. The Blue Reef Aquarium is a fun and educational visit for all ages and located just a few miles from the site. For dining, you might like to consider the pub outside the site entrance or the fish and chip shop just a short drive away. All in all, the caravan site promises all the choices you could wish for in a relaxing holiday destination.
