Local attractions

Todmorden is a thriving market town nestling at the intersection of three valleys on the Yorkshire & Lancashire border at the head of the Calder Valley overlooked by Stoodley Pike, an impressive monument to the Napoleonic wars. Todmorden has a vibrant community enjoying stunning Pennine scenery and fine victorian architecture. There are both indoor and outdoor markets situated in the town centre adjacent to the town hall and plenty of bistro's, restaurants and pubs within walking distance for you to enjoy! If you don't want to leave our picturesque grounds then feel free to stoke up a safe BBQ and enjoy a drink in our own club bar. There are excellent transport links to and from the town with regular local buses and rail links direct to Manchester and Leeds. The Rochdale canal also runs through the town which is a lovely walk. Next door to the ground is Centre Vale Park with facilities including a childrens playground, crown green bowling, tennis courts, pitch & putt and the leisure centre with gym and swimming pool, all with a wooded backdrop affording short woodland paths. For the more discerning walker the site is very handy for walking the Pennine Way and the Calderdale Way, with many other footpaths, towpaths, bridleways ( Towneley Trail ) and packhouse trails to tempt both hikers and cyclists.
