  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune
Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath. Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune. On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code. A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Good clean toilet block.

Disliked: Terrible pitches which need re covering or re building, too narrow, they were like mud baths, they looked 20 years old. We paid a premium price of £45 per night which was certainly overpriced.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The shower/ toilet facility very clean.

Disliked: We originally booked for 3 nights Fri sat sun, but had to leave on the Sat as we were very disappointed with the state of the hardstanding pitches. Basically the hardstanding pitches are not well maintained nor are they wide enough to accommodate a decent path around the van when it is parked. We were straight onto the waterlogged grass and into boggy mud from the van doors. I understand the weather conditions and if we had been informed the site was waterlogged, the decision to stay would have been ours . However the price for this poor standard of a hardstanding pitch is very poor value . I have never stayed on a hardstanding pitch which had no reasonable area to also walk round the van. This site is receptionless and the owners tel no is the only contact available. which states it is for emergency or problems. I initially contacted him on the day we were leaving , but I am still waiting for a response from him, he has not had the courtesy to respond to my issue.
