Swallowtail Hill is a small East Sussex farm, which has now become a beacon for bio-diversity and is used as a demonstration site to show exactly what a landscape can become if managed for conservation – wild flower meadows, hedgerows bursting with life, ponds and reed beds, coppice woodland – all managed traditionally. Swallowtail Hill offers a beautiful setting in which to spend a deeply relaxing holiday safe in the knowledge that its impact on the environment will be absolutely minimal. We have two cosy wooden cabins and two quirky cottages-on-wheels which are our own rather eccentric designs – you won’t find anything similar around. Each of our units sleeps up to four people (one double bed and two singles). Each pitch has its own fire pit so you can enjoy a traditional campfire. We provide a kit box with all the necessary equipment you need to cook and cater for yourselves. Each pitch is furnished simply but comfortably and wherever possible everything we supply is sustainable and kind to the planet. We supply pillows, sheets, duvets, covers, blankets and towels. The two wood cabins share a compost loo and wood fired outdoor shower. The cottages-on-wheels each have their own compost loo and outdoor wood-burning shower.
