Port Lympne Reserve is a truly unique wild animal park with 600 acres of beautiful surroundings looking out across Romney Marsh and to the sea. Around 100 acres are dedicated to our 'African Experience' giving all visitors the opportunity to take a safari and see the animals roaming free. Visitors will have the chance to see critically endangered species: we have the largest collection of black rhino in the UK. We hope everyone understands the strong conservation aspect at Port Lympne Reserve while they visit us and long after they leave. We offer a range of experiences from short animal encounters to full-day wildlife photography courses. Activities can be booked on arrival and are subject to extra charges. There are four on foot zones waiting to be explored, where visitors can meet big cats and small cats in Carnivore Territory, marvel at the monkeys, lemurs and western lowland gorillas in the Primate Trail, grab a snack or board a safari truck at Basecamp and say 'hi' to the meerkats in the Discovery Zone. For those who are looking for an authentic overnight stay with a wild twist, the park provides the perfect options in the way of our unique lodges or cosy pods. Restaurants and kiosks are located around the park providing a variety of hot and cold snacks, alternatively visitors are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy their food in one of the tranquil picnic areas with far reaching views across the Romney Marsh to the English Channel.
