Remember when you were young and you could run wild in the woods? Play on a rope swing, climb to the top of a tree or toast marshmellows on a campfire? We have secluded pitches in beautiful ancient woodland, bushcraft lessons, hot showers, our own laying hens, local farm shop and acres of woodland to explore. Bring your kids and relive your childhood...create some new memories. We run off-grid and aim to make as little impact on the woods as possible. It’s wild camping but with hot showers, WC’s and recycling facilities – rustic but with everything you need for a few creature comforts in the woods.

Route directions

Badgells Wood is easily accessed from either the M20 (jcn 2 if heading south or jcn 2A on the M26 if heading North) or the M2/A2 (A227 turn-off to Wrotham & Gravesend). We are just under 2.5 miles from the turning off the A227, between Meopham and Wrotham, near Vigo village. Turn onto Harvel Lane (signposed Vigo & Harvel – and with a brown sign for Trosley Country Park). If you are heading north the turning off the A227 is not long after the Vigo Pub on your right. If heading south & you get to the Vigo pub you have gone too far..! Follow the road along for two miles and you will go past the turning on your left to Harvel (& Harvel House Farm Shop). You will then pass a couple of houses and Fairseat Fencing. Keep going for another 1/2 mile and you will see the entrance on your right (as the image above) and the reception compound in front of you. Come and check in, park up and go and find your pitch in the woods..!

Or walk a little further to Holly Hill open space or the cafe at Trosley Country Park OTHER OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES We highly recommend Riverhill Himalayan Gardens for an experience your children will remember. Its about 1/2hr away near Sevenoaks. For the pony-mad The Whitehorse Equestrian Centre is just around the corner in Harvel.
