  • Family spot overlooking the spectacular Bodmin Moor
  • Less than half an hour from scenic coastal villages and beaches
  • Top spot for stargazing in a Dark Sky Reserve
What does relaxation mean for you? Whether it’s chilling out back at base or getting fired up with some exercise, you’re well looked after at Pine Green Caravan Park, a family-friendly site on the edge of Doublebois village, five minutes’ drive from the Cornwall market town of Liskeard. If all you want is to spend your hols with your feet up, soaking up stunning views and spectacular sunsets, you won’t go far wrong with Pine Green – the site is set over three acres of terraced land, so no matter where you pitch up for your stay, no one's going to be blocking your views of Bodmin Moor. Those of a more active persuasion won’t be at a loss around here either: make your way to Siblyback Lake for windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, trout fishing, and cycling and walking routes, or try Colliford Lake Park for moorland walks and fly-fishing. When it comes time to fuel up with dinner, you can fire up the barbecue (there’s a supermarket about five minutes away) or venture out to one of the many restaurants within 10 minutes of the site. After you’ve eaten your fill, kick back on site with your eyes to the skies: this is a Dark Sky Reserve, so the stargazing is top notch.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful views across Bodmin Moor. Very quiet campsite with immaculate facilities. If you want kids activities, bars and restaurants then this isn't for you. If you want a clean, peaceful, quiet place to pitch up then this is the place. It's a nice base if you are wanting to explore Cornwall but want to have peace away from the crowds. We live locally but wanted a little trial trip in our campervan. Had a lovely quiet nights sleep! There is a main road near by but we didn't hear it at all. Pitches are level and no problems with hook up.

Liked: Nathan site owner very friendly and made us feel welcome. Pitch very large and clean with very good scenic views. Amenities block spotless very modern and clean and very well maintained also cleaned regularly with friendly cleaners. Recycling area very tidy. Phone number acess to enter site. Welcome to Cornwall packs in ammenties block thay provides information about thr local area and attractions with money off vouchers.

Disliked: Nothing for children to do and very strict rules about biked scooters etc. Could do with a little park or a little play corner for them. Maybe have a little shop shed that could sell basics like bread and milk

From the manager: Thankyou for taking the time to review your stay. I'm so pleased you had a nice time. Because of the steep slopes bike riding and scooters are not allowed, for the safety of children and others. Lovely idea about the shop, I may look into that one day. Regards Nathan

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Toilet block was brilliant, that’s where good points end!

Disliked: Appalling from start to finish. I have a therapy dog for my son who is disabled and within 5 mins of arrival we were told that our dog and us had to leave the site! He is a trained dog despite what he looks like. Following that it was bad after bad after bad. The site is having extensive building works done which made it extremely difficult for my children and us enjoy our stay. We approached management and was told to “pack up and leave! I also spoke with grandad of the manager and he said “if my son Darren was here there would be problems”. We felt unsafe following this and left the site early. This is on the edge of an industrial estate and is not pleasant. I’m sure in time it will be but not how it is at present. Would i recommend this site? No is simple answer

From the manager: Thankyou for writing this review without using the foul and abusive language you used on arrival and for the duration of your stay. I presume you read the rules of the site stating no Staffies. (your dog was a staffie cross-NOT a Jack Russell which was the breed you told me.) You were explained to that we do not accept staffies but I allowed you on as you said it was an assistance dog. Your assistance dog was aggressive towards another dog so obviously needs to be under control. Unfortunately due to your foul abusive language I did ask you to leave and offered a full refund as not only did I feel uncomfortable and threatened but other holiday makers felt the same and one customer left during one of your tyrades directed at me. You refused to leave and stayed playing loud music to the upset of the other guests. I believed you were hurling abuse at me as I am a young park owner trying my best to run a business and maybe you thought I was just a workman (no excuse but maybe a reason?) but you also used foul language at my grandad who was there helping me. On the Saturday Storm Antonio came through and after telephoning you to let you know your awning was coming down, you simply stated you would be back later. Unfortunately your awning had blown down by the time you arrived back which obviously was upsetting for you. We do apologise to our guests for any inconvenience caused whilst we are upgrading the park and will do our utmost to keep disruption to the minimum. I hope you find a more suitable park to enjoy your next holiday and wish you well. Regards Nathan (Site OWNER)

Local attractions

Pine Green Caravan Park is well placed for explorations of Cornwall through the ages: start at Dozmary Pool on the Bodmin Moor, the fabled resting place of King Arthur’s Excalibur, find your way to the Moody Hurlers stone circle (ask obliging hosts Carol and Tony the story behind that one), then take a jaunt into Bodmin for the Courtroom Experience and Bodmin Jail. Fancy some scenic grandeur? Try the stately homes of Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Antony and Lawrence House, all within roughly half an hour of the site. If that’s not floating your boat, row on over to the stunning Polperro – cars are banned in the coastal village, but it’s well worth abandoning modern modes of transport for a stroll around here and a poke through the Polperro Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing. Got kids in tow? Fire their imagination with visits to the fab Lost Gardens of Heligan, Carnglaze Slate Caverns and Jamaica Inn (a smuggling stronghold immortalised in the eponymous Daphne du Maurier novel), get them thinking about the environment at the Eden Project, and burn off all their remaining energy with trips to Hidden Valley, Adrenalin Quarry and Camel Creek Adventure Park. If that’s not enough for them, Crealy Adventure Park is about an hour and 15 minutes' drive away.
