  • Scenic and award-winning site filled with flowers
  • Two lakes for coarse fishing plus nature reserve
  • Heated pool, crazy golf, playgrounds, games room and licensed shop
This fabulously floral site has been giving a warm welcome for more than 50 years. The grounds are blooming lovely – even the fishing lakes are filled with lilies – and it’s easy to see why Trevella Holiday Park is a regular winner of the Newquay in Bloom contest, and why so many people come back here every summer. Little buds can shoot around the heated outdoor pool, paddling pool, crazy golf, games room and playgrounds for different ages. There’s free coarse fishing in the two lakes and a pretty nature reserve to explore and a licensed shop. The roomy pitches sit within handsome parkland and the high-quality amenities include family bathrooms, baby changing and a laundry room.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely site. We changed from grass pitch to hard standing with no issues. Nice chilled and things to do with our son.

Disliked: Nothing.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Premium pitch, far too narrow entry onto pitch, was an absolute mud bath, fencing broken and loose wood blowing in wind. Bird scarer boon started in adjoining field at 7am every day. Staff no help when we got stuck in mud trying to leave site! Toilets closed, family room alternate awful, dirty and cold.

Camping pod

Liked: The pod was cosy. We loved that we could access everything on site. Teh staff were friendly and the pub was a great addition. Lake was very quite and relaxing.

Disliked: No food places on site. Pool was closed for the whole of our visit. Lots of poo on jetties making it slippy. Pub closed a bit early.

Camping pod

Liked: The camping pod was perfect. Parking in front of the hut was ideal. The heating and plugs all around was so helpful. The camping pods are well thought out. Warm showers (in the small toilet cabin) Friendly staff. Dog friendly.

Disliked: The toilet and shower facilities were clean (ish) but could have done with an extra tidy. The smaller toilet block was much nicer. The showers could have done with a compartment where you could store dry items.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked: Nothing, left a day early

Disliked: Flooded pitch, was not good when son got crutches and a boot. Little wet stone’s ended up everywhere in the motorhome. Ladies shower blocks closed. Had to use a family toilet block, washing dishes and doing washing near your poo area is not good. All windows were open all the time so extremely cold. Tires got stuck at the pitch. A dead bird behind our pitch area. Some kind of massive shotgun bang, went off nearly every hour. Worse camp site. Paid extra for fully serviced. It was shocking. When it was time to empty toilet chemicals we had to go into a bramble area behind wooden door. Never found the bin area, or grey waste area.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We had the most amazing family holiday! We couldn’t have picked a better location, the site had everything we needed and more. The staff were very helpful and I can’t stress this enough - we had an issue with our tent during out of hours, the lady came back to the site and upgraded us to a pod in no time. I would recommend Trevella Holiday Park to all family’s looking for a holiday in Newquay.

Local attractions

A quick meander along the verdant country lanes and pathways around Trevella can lead in various directions: a historic smugglers’ inn, a beach, Crantock’s thatched cottages and pretty village church, or to the Gannel estuary to fish, paddle, birdwatch or make the short hop on the ferry to Newquay. The latter probably needs no introduction, but on top of its famous beaches, it has a zoo, aquarium, farm park, boating lake and miniature railway – plus swimming pools (with flumes) and golf courses. This being Cornwall, visitors will find no shortage of ace attractions less than an hour away. Recommendations include losing oneself in the gardens at Heligan, taking in an atmospheric show at the open-air Minack Theatre, on the cliffs overlooking the sea; heading into the Eden Project’s massive crater, to examine the exotic flora in the jaw-dropping megadomes; and some painterly perusal at the Tate Gallery in St Ives. Then there are adventure parks, National Trust properties and open gardens galore; plus a lively programme of local land- and sea-based events, from festivals to carnivals, and regattas to traditional Cornish gig racing.
