  • Tiny pet-friendly site in the grounds of a quiet Cornish farm
  • A mile and a half from Penzance; Marazion 10 minutes' drive
  • Farm produce, water supply, recycling points and waste disposal
For somewhere to stop while wending your way westwards to the end of Cornwall, try Fox Farm Motorhome Park, a well-maintained, intimate site set in the grounds of a small farm a mile and a half from Penzance town centre. It won't take you long to get out and see the local wildlife here – this site is located on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty on the sparsely populated Penwith Peninsula. This Cornish spot has a very small number of secluded pitches, all of which are spacious and level. Amenities at this low-key spot include practical features like a water supply via a spring borehole, recycling points and chemical disposal facilities. There's also a small on-site farm shop where you can pick up fresh local fruit and vegetables. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads, as this is a working farm. Open barbecues are allowed too, but the owners would appreciate it if quiet hours could be respected after 10pm. This site feels peaceful and out of the way but is easily accessible from the main road, which can get you down into Penzance with roughly a five-minute drive. There are several beaches here (including a fair number of dog-friendly options), as well as a railway station, bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked: Quiet area but conveniently close to Penzance. Small site with large well-serviced pitch. There is a toilet/shower despite saying no toilet on the description I saw - this was welcome.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked: Friendly owner. Electric hook up.

Disliked: £25 per night was to much for what was there. No water. None of the taps worked . We couldn't fill the water tank up. Not a farm shop.was a few bits of veg by the side of the rd. The view was definitely not outstanding. Waist disposable was a hole in the ground. With no means of washing the waist tank after emptying it .🤢

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked: The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. There is a small shed with an electric shower and toilet. The 3 times I used it, it was clean and the shower worked well. There is an electric hook-up at the back of the pitch and no issues at all. Easy to park and space to turn around to get back out. I have a long Boxer and plenty of space no silly extra add-on price for electric or if you want to put up your add-on bits like so many other sites. There is chemical toilet disposal and greywater disposal. Great little trust shop with fresh veg and flowers. Nice and quiet with no road noise. I would come back again no problem.

Local attractions

Drive 10 minutes down the road to Marazion to see the iconic St Michael's Mount and to explore two sandy beaches, or walk there from Penzance (two miles) along an almost entirely level traffic-free path. Other local outdoor attractions you won't want to miss include the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes' drive), where modern art meets panoramas over the sea, and The Minack Theatre (25 minutes), an open-air events space with regular shows in a spectacular clifftop setting. Finding yourself in St Ives (20 minutes) is another popular option, as this artsy north coast town is home to a Tate art gallery, a pottery centre and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. For something a bit grittier (although without leaving behind the fantastic scenery), there's also the Geevor Tin Mine (20 minutes), where you can discover three centuries of Cornish industrial heritage. Hopping back over to the south coast, you're also within day-tripping distance of Falmouth and King Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle (50 minutes), while just driving west will take you straight to the Land's End Landmark Attraction (25 minutes) where you can look out over the Atlantic.
