  • Well-equipped glamping in spectacular surroundings near Penzance
  • Horse school, dressage arena and riding lessons all available on site
  • Within cycling distance of St Michael's Mount
'Glamping in stunning surroundings' is how the team at Rosevidney Glamping describes its spectacular little site five miles from Penzance: take a (long) trip here to find out of what they speak. (Hint: they're very right indeed.) This is also an excellent place for horsey sorts, with a 60x40metre indoor school, dressage arena and jumping paddock right on site, and lessons available from a highly experienced horse handler. Horse riding is around in the surrounding area too: ask at reception for tips on where to canter. The Rosevidney facilities include a hygienic and environmentally friendly composting toilet, a conventional toilet at the farm and a shower in a separate hut in the meadow. The village shop and several local pubs are all within cycling distance.

Route directions

From the main A30 Hayle, follow signs for Penzance. Just past the Lamb and Flag pub Rosevidney is signposted on the left with road signs. Turn left and follow the road over the railway bridge. Continue until a T-junction, turn right and in approximately 1/2 mile the site is on the right hand side. Please use the double gates with the livery stables and horse riding signs. Please park on the grass on the left. By train: Penzance is the main station; St Erth is the closest local station, however fewer trains stop here. Taxis are available at both stations. If you wish to be picked up at the station, please let the site know via the 'special requests' box or contact them with sufficient notice by using the contact details provided on your booking confirmation. By bicycle: The site is on the National Cycle Network.

Local attractions

Bring your bike: as well as sourcing supplies at the village shop and tipples at the local pubs, you'll also be able to reach famed Cornish landmark St Michael's Mount from Rosevidney Glamping, as well as national cycle trails close by. Surfing, kitesurfing and sailing are all easy to get to from here too: ask at reception for info and tips. This part of the world is of course also famed for its smashing cliffside walks along the South West Coast Path, running for over 600 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset. You'll be able to access it easily from most places along the coast; have a go at the St Ives to Pendeen hike (strong legs required), the walk around Cape Cornwall, or the one from Sennen Cove to Lamorna. About five miles away, arty St Ives is home to the Tate St Ives gallery as well as several smaller arty spaces, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and – if arty stuff ain't your thing – four splendid sandy beaches too.
