The site's terraced layout allows for separate areas for families and couples or single travellers, all with stunning views towards the south coast. And it's not just the outlook that's stunning – fix your gaze closer and you'll note an excellent collection of facilities on site, too. For days when that 20-minute stroll to the beach just seems waaaaay too much, there's an outdoor pool for swims and sunbathing, and you'll also have games of tennis and crazy golf to play. Camping pod (pet friendly, three person)

Liked: My husband, my 5 year old and I stayed in the pink pod for three nights in wet and windy April. Surprisingly, the pod consisted of three beds, quilts, pillows, a fridge freezer, microwave, plates, cups, glasses, a cheese grater and cutlery, there was little else needed although we had taken all our own so didn't actually use any of these very helpful additions. It rained our entire stay and was incredibly windy but our little cabin stood up to the challenge and we were safe and dry inside. It's simplistic but it does what it says on the tin. We have stayed in many a cabin, wild camped, tented and glamped and this one was what I would describe as you get what you pay for. (Not in a bad way) it was a bargain for a little break with the youngest! In the summer months I foresee this place being an oasis with a lovely children's play area, crazy golf and a pool! Unfortunately due to weather we didn't get chance to enjoy these but we did see them! The toilets are nothing to write home about luckily enough we brought our composting toilet as it was quite a walk and when your 5 year old son never needs the toilet until IMMEDIATELY that was no good for us! So expect a walk and don't leave it until last minute! Showers were wet and warm as expected. Our hosts and maintenance are why this place is getting 5 stars from us! So due to said described weather we got stuck in the mud and we called reception who quickly sent rescue. I will specify the two young men who quite literally dug and pushed our *huge* car out of our home made bog were so polite and wonderful and a credit to this place. Worth their weight in gold! If I hadn't of spent all my cash on copius amounts of scones and jam I would of definitely loved to of been able to gift these two something but felt my shrapnel was a little insulting considering! Great little break withouht breaking the bank, lovely location, will definitely return when the weather picks up! Places to visit: Lands end, St. Ives, Marazion and the Eden project!

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Great location to base yourself for coastal walks. The fields are maintained well with plants to separate the pitches. Toilets and shower blocks were always clean

Disliked: It’s not a dislike as such, fully understand it is end of season. But the silicone in the showers need replacing. But as previously mentioned always clean

Local attractions

Smashing Sennen Cove is one of the most famed beaches in Cornwall, for its spectacular setting as well as its surfing. Shops, pubs and artsy galleries are around the harbour; if you're feeling energetic, climb the Pedn-men-du promontory from here or hike the 11.7 mile section of the South West Coast Path from Sennen Cove to Lamorna. The Land's End Visitor Centre is also within a mile of Seaview (a pic taken at the famed Land's End signpost is obligatory) and if you're up for teeing off in spectacular surrounds, Cape Cornwall Golf Club is within five miles. Of a summer evening, pootle along to a show at the clifftop Minack Theatre, a three-mile drive away, or have a tour of it all at any time of year. A couple of mighty famed must-sees are within driving distance: the tiny tidal island of St Michael's Mount 12 miles away, which you can walk to at low tide or take the boat when the waves are in, and the pretty arty town of St Ives 15 miles from base, home to Tate St Ives. Kids will be in heaven at Paradise Park (20 miles), The Flambards Experience (25 miles), Poldark Mine (25 miles) and the National Seal Sanctuary (30 miles); further afield but well worth the trip is the lush Eden Project, 55 miles away.
