  • Small family-run holiday park 15 miles from Newquay
  • On the south coast of Cornwall near Mevagissey and St Austell
  • Indoor pool and a clubhouse with bar and wifi
Carn you eke out your Cornwall stay to at least a couple of weeks? It'll be needed: within a five-mile radius of this south coast holiday park are several sandy beaches, foamy waves of surf, the fishing village of Mevagissey, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project… Carnmoggas Holiday Park is a small and family-run place with a good bit to do on site, from the free indoor pool to the bar with beer garden and clubhouse hosting music and quiz nights throughout the season. Or go and have a natter to the Carnmoggas crew, as they can help you plot your days at the surrounding coast and countryside, as well as sort out discounted tickets to the Eden Project and the Heligan gardens. The park also has pool tables, giant chess, table football, air hockey and table tennis. And – we bet you didn't reckon on this at a Cornish holiday park – you can also book time on one of the three indoor bowling rinks. For yet more surf, Cornish surf capital Newquay is 15 miles away.

Local attractions

To the beach? Miles of famed and golden sands are within five miles of Carnmoggas Holiday Park, including Pentewan, Caerhays, Carlyon Bay, Gorran Haven, Porthpean… If you're here to hike, access the South West Coast Path from any of these, or you could also take the Pentewan Valley Trail following the former railway line from here to St Austell. Speaking of St Austelll…. Carnmoggas's local town is a much-visited locale in Cornwall, by peeps who come for yet more beach (seven of them, in fact), an award-winning brewery and the famed Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. A couple of miles out of town is the China Clay Country Park, telling the tale of this part of Cornwall's industrial heritage. The scenic old fishing village of Mevagissey is another local recommended stop, as is the old port of Charleston with its Shipwreck and Heritage Centre housing the biggest collection of shipwreck artefacts in all the land. If you're on hol with the kids, indoor soft play centre Kidzworld is near the park and bigger attractions like Crealy Great Adventure Park, Flambards Theme Park and Newquay Zoo can all be reached within a quick drive.
