  • Cornwall countryside site with spectacular views
  • Four miles from St Austell and six from the Eden Project
  • Dog-friendly site with level and well-drained pitches
There are reasons aplenty why many guests at the popular Court Farm Campsite near St Austell in Cornwall plot their return before they’ve even left: the site is in cracking Cornish countryside with the county’s most famed attractions only a few miles away, and you’ll get probably the friendliest welcome anywhere from Simon and Lisa. The family have been on this farm for generations, so recommending days out for guests is a doddle to the Court Farm lot, who can let you know the best pubs, best beaches and best things to do for miles around; if you look confuddled, they’ll even draw you a map. The Court Farm pitches are popular with guests too: level, well-drained, generously sized and set on the edges of the camping fields with plenty of room left for the kids to run about. Other favoured facilities include free temperature-controlled showers with a baby bath and changing mat area, hot water provided in the dishwashing area,a freezer facility and a launderette. Wifi is available. Dogs will get a warm welcome at Court Farm too, but please keep them on leads and away from the horses.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked: A lovely, quiet and peaceful campsite. Simon was super friendly on arrival and gave us ideas of where to explore in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities were extremely clean and WiFi reached to the far end of the field. We would definitely come back to this campsite again, it was a slice of heaven.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Rung due to being late and they informed us which pitches we could use, but they still came out in the dark to greet us and check we was ok. Nice and quiet site with well kept facilities, great showers and packs for things to do.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful and spacious site! Huge tent pitches with loads of space for children to play. Very nice showers and facilities. It was very handy having a water tap at the pitch. It was very rainy when we were there and the host was great at making sure we could unload safely and had somewhere to park our car off the grass. Lovely views. We'll be back!

Liked: Large plots. Ample dishwashing facilities. Clean toilet and shower block. Dog friendly.

Disliked: Misleading price on tumble dryer. Price quotes as £1, after you put in £1 a 20 minute timer starts. No acknowledgment/contract from site owner.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked: My husband and I adored our stay at Court Farm. The placement of the 30 pitches around a well manicured field leaves the pitches feeling vast. There are bins almost one between every two pitches. These are emptied daily and there are numerous water points. The facilities are brilliant; cleaned regularly and again feeling spacious. We never queued for a w.c, a shower or washing up facilities. Checking in couldn’t be easier with your name and plot no. displayed on the office window as you enter the site. The simplicity of the site means that it’s calm and everything is done well. The site does run parallel with a road which is fairly quiet. Our pitch backed onto the road but it was never enough to cause any bother. The amazing starlit skies and views over the nearby hills more than made up for any slight inconvenience the road noise caused. The location of the sight means local gems like Fowey, Charlestown, The Eden Project and Polkerris are never really more than 30 mins away. We really can’t fault Court Farm and booked to return next year before our stay at the site had even reached it’s completion.

Local attractions

No road rage here: Court Farm is slap bang in the middle of Cornish attraction country, with most of Cornwall’s best-known places within 20 minutes’ drive of your pitch. Four miles away, the town of St Austell and its surroundings are the hub for many attractions and activities: the Clay Trail starts from here and the Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park takes a look at Cornwall’s famous china clay heritage. Then to the beach for the sand and coves of St Austell Bay: look to the east for Gribben Head, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with the South Coast Path passing around it on its way to Poole (handy hint: that’s a long walk). Thirsty? Head for St Austell’s award-winning brewery for a well-earned tipple; you can buy a ‘Passport to Beer’ book here too telling the tasty tale of beer in the area. The sheltered hidden beach of Polkerris is 10 miles away from Court Farm (you might need to ask on site for detailed directions as they say it’s down a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ turning). Bag some windsurfing and sailing courses here, have an ice cream at the beach café or munch a meal with a view at the Rashleigh Inn. From Polkerris it’s only a couple of miles to Fowey with its family beach at Readymoney Cove.
