  • On the Roseland Peninsula three miles from the Lost Gardens at Heligan
  • Spectacular sea views, all a short walk from the beach
  • Sun loungers, large play areas and coffee lounge on site
Just look at that beach… Seaview Gorran Haven Holiday Park is at the start of the Roseland Peninsula on Cornwall's south coast, surrounded by a patchwork of fields and the blue sea. It's a short stroll from spectacular sands and in a stunningly scenic park with colourful flowers and views over the ocean and nearby Dodman Point. Seaview is centrally set for heaps of attractions including the South West Coast Path, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, about 20 minutes' walk from its nearest beach, easily reachable by foot. St Austell is the closest big town, about 20 minutes' drive away. A heated outdoor pool and small paddling pool (both open in high season only) are among the excellently kept modern facilities at Seaview, both with plenty of sun loungers alongside on the sun terrace. Kids have a play area with swings and slides, as well as loads of room to run around at the park's big games areas. There is also a secure dog-walking area where pups can run free, and a coffee lounge in the Chapel reception area where you can relax with a hot drink.

Disliked: Pool was closed (we went beginning October) no proper shop or cafe on site. Was foggy so we had no view, but can’t be helped.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: We arrived late on a Friday and found our pitch details on the reception door with a guide to the pitch. The pitch had plenty of space, it was fully serviced, and best of all there is a hedge between each pitch for privacy. The shower block/laundry was clean well equipped and close to all serviced pitches. The whole site was clean and tidy despite bad weather. We were allowed to use the pool and despite the heating being off for the season, it was perfectly ok. We will likely return to explore more of the nearby coast……..

Disliked: Nothing

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Spacing of pitches. Clean toilets and showers. Loved the heated outdoor pool. Location. Good facilities (kettle, oven, w/machine etc). Power/water etc for pitches easily accessible.

Disliked: Access to the pool area could be improved. No loo at the pool area. Would benefit from a little cafe or vending machine for milk etc when reception not open. Wifi wasn’t great.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Spacious pitch and clean facilities

Disliked: No sea view from the campsite despite the name. Our pitch wasn't flat. We were put right next to the dog walking field, where the poo bin was located campsite side. Not a pleasant smell especially for a dog-leas family!

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Lots of space and able to choose our own pitch.. facilities were very good, shop, cafe, restaurant, bar and a fabulous evening with an Elton show.. the showers and toilets were excellent 5 ⭐️ It was quiet as we were out of season but lots of space for the tourers

Disliked: The beach is easily accessible but lots of warnings re the mud at low tide… the camp and the signs are very good though so you know what is not safe.

Route directions

From St Austell, take the B3273 towards Mevagissey for approximately three miles, at the top of the steep hill, turn right signposted to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Seaview International. Follow this road and turn for the yellow Seaview Lodges sign. If you are using a GPS or satnav device then do not carry straight on at the top of the hill as this will take you into the centre of Mevagissey where the streets are extremely narrow and often blocked. Please turn right at the top.

Local attractions

Seaview is close to the South West Coast Path – and sands – of Restormel, a top spot for cyclists and walkers, and among the coves, safe clean beaches and jaw-droppingly scenic coast of the beaut Roseland Peninsula. St Mawes and St Just are both within easy reach; access sailing, fishing boat hire and kayaking nearby at Mevagissey. Famed Cornish options close by are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, three and a half miles away, and the big biomes and the tropical rainforest of the Eden Project, under 10. You could also take a boat trip along the Fal from Falmouth, pedal the Clay Trail for five miles from the Eden Project to Wheal Martyn, or venture determinedly forth for Cornwall's old castles and buildings, including the Caerhays Castle manor house a couple of miles from the site. Kids will surely like the Shipwreck and Heritage Centre, within a short drive at the port of Charlestown, and Flambards theme park and the Crealy Great Adventure Park (about an hour by car). A football golf centre, indoor soft play and the Wingz bird and animal sanctuary are all a few minutes' drive from St Austell. Regattas, carnivals and festivals run throughout Cornwall all year round; ask the Seaview team when you arrive what's going on locally during your hol.
