  • Peaceful park in a sheltered valley and wildlife haven
  • Two miles from Truro and 10 minutes' drive from sandy beaches
  • Spotless facilities, playground and guest lounge
Summer Valley Touring Park is a peaceful and private park, in a cocoon of trees two miles to the north of Truro, and in a south-facing sheltered valley in peaceful Cornish countryside and a wildlife haven. It's centrally located within Cornwall: the north coast and beaches are 10 minutes' drive away and the south coast within 20. The south-facing pitches have lush views over meadows and woodland, and there’s a smart service area, an adventure playground, a food shop and a heated facilities block with guest lounge and free wifi The site is small (three acres) and family-owned, so holidaymakers can expect good service, a warm welcome and a relaxed environment. There’s a pub half a mile away in the village of Shortlanesend, or guests can make their way the two miles into Truro for lots more shops, restaurants and services. Grab your bucket and spade and hit the miles of silky sand at Perranporth, six miles away.

Local attractions

It’s less than half an hour to the following: Springfield Farm Park and Pony Centre, which on top of all the equine excitement has a huge indoor play barn and a variety of outdoor fun; penguins, parrots and otter antics at the Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary; and the mega milking parlour, rides and slides at Dairyland Farm World. Flambards adventure park is about 30 minutes away too, or there’s more relaxed entertainment within the heavenly biomes of the Eden Project and at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Drama queens shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take in an open-air performance in the jaw-dropping setting of the Minack Theatre. In ye olden days, a naive chap taking a day trip to St Ives might find himself landed with seven wives, cats, sacks and more… these days, advice is to avoid these traditional souvenirs and make a beeline for the Tate Gallery instead.
