  • Working farm site in Georgeham, two miles from the north Devon coast
  • Within easy reach of several award-winning surfing beaches
  • A five-minute stroll to two village pubs, a shop and a post office
Perfect your surf technique, swing your golf clubs, take a seaside saunter… alfresco antics await for guests at Incledon Farm Campsite, on a working farm at the edge of the Devon village of Georgeham. From this scenic spot 10 minutes' drive from Braunton in the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there’s easy access to the South West Coast Path and some of north Devon’s most fab beaches: it’s just a couple of miles to Woolacombe, Putsborough and Croyde beaches, and a 15-minutes drive to Saunton Sands. Pitches are set across two fields – The Platt and The Meadow – both of which have cracking views across the surrounding countryside. Allocated as you arrive, some pitches are level, but for the most part they've got a gentle slope. Wherever you set up, there's plenty of space for barbecues or running about (this is the kind of place that’s prone to spontaneous sociable games of footie or rounders while the coals get going). Reviews from previous guests have heaped praise on two particular aspects of the place: the friendly owners and the proximity of two local pubs, both a five-minute stroll away along with a shop selling essentials and local produce. Amenities at Incledon Farm Campsite include flushing toilets and hot showers.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Loved everything about the place! The friendly, helpful staff. The site itself had good facilities that are well maintained and clean. It was so peaceful. The scenery was stunning. It was only a short drive to a number of beaches, resorts, towns or attractions. There are two lovely pubs within 5 minute walk of the site that do food.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: A warm welcome from the owners, excellent facilities and ideally located for Woolacombe beach. The showers and toilets were clean and plentiful. Availability of a freezer very useful. Equally, a couple of local pubs about 10 minutes walk. Bring a torch.

Disliked: Grass could have been cut in the field where tents were pitched given the morning dew - but, honestly, that really is a very minor quibble.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: We were lucky to get a lovely flat pitch at the top of the hill with a breeze and a glorious view. The showers were roomy with a good flow of hot water and there were a good number of loos. We loved the hens walking around the farmyard.

Disliked: Not the fault of the site - the drive along the narrow roads to get there was tense at times!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful views and location. Plenty of space. Lovely showers; strong jet of water, nice and warm and no coin meter. Also a big cubicle with plenty of hooks and shelves for storing your stuff. Showers and toilets nice and clean with plenty of toilet roll. Close to the village with a shop and two good pubs. Friendly, helpful staff. Me and my friend accidentally paid twice and it was rectified quickly and with no fuss. Reasonable 4G reception at the top of the site. My daughter liked the book shed.

Disliked: Could possibly benefit from more toilets and water taps. The site was not full, so we didn't have a problem but you might have to queue if it was busier.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Superb farm with camping facilities. Showers located close to the pitching area which were great tempratures, two sets of toilet facilities. Safe for children to run and play whilst you can relax and enjoy the scenery. JJs food shack on site which was great for breakfast or that morning coffee you desperately needed !! We even had the pizza night option which was great if we'd had too much bbq food and fancied something different! Very welcoming on our first stay at incledon. Friendly face and shown around before setting up. Will definitely be visiting again next year !!! :)

Disliked: Nothing. Was a very happy novice camper !! :-)

Local attractions

Gentle rambles or all-day hikes are both equally fine plans on the spectacular South West Coast Path a couple of miles away. If you’d rather cycle through the scenery, the traffic-free Tarka Trail is a popular pick, starting three miles away in Braunton and running through woods and alongside the estuary. The site's within easy reach of some of the country's most popular surfing beaches, with miles of golden sand at Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton Sands, all of which are less than 15 minutes away by car. If you’d prefer a bit of poking about in coastal villages, ride the world’s steepest water-powered railway in Lynmouth (45 minutes), or head to the cobbled streets of Clovelly (50 minutes). Tiddler-pleasing trips nearby include Exmoor Zoo (30 minutes) and the Milky Way Adventure Park (45 minutes). For golfing types, there are two good clubs in the immediate area – one at Woolacombe and another near Braunton with two award-winning 18-hole golf courses.
