  • Golf, free entertainment and pool complex with Jacuzzi and sauna
Cor. You'll have to eat your collective hats if lads and lasses of all sizes don’t find a mega amount of things to do at Ladram Bay Holiday Centre overlooking the Jurassic Coast – it’s billed as the holiday park with ‘something for everyone’ and has been heaped with awards over the years. Having its own private beach and secluded bay probably helps too… An adventure playground with giant pirate ship (aaaarrr) and a fab outdoor playground (with multi-level adventure frame with slides, wobbly bridges, tunnels and obstacle course elements) are just a couple of the picks at this friendly family park; a toddlers' area with a smaller climbing frame means that mini guests have suitable space to play too. On top of that, kids’ and teen clubs will keep all entertained during the day, and the arcade with games should see them additionally amused. As should the megasaurus Jurassic-themed adventure golf course and its lurking dinosaurs, and the pool complex with slides, fountains, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and gym. On a fine day, the outdoor splash zone is the place for water babes and non-swimmers alike to play with spray jets, water features and pirate ships. An indoor soft play area is available for ages up to 12 – and, most thoughtfully – is right next door to the Pebbles Restaurant. The soft play area and other pastimes are in the Three Rocks complex, which also has the amusement arcade, Waves Bar and Nightspot and Sky and BT sports on the big screen. Elsewhere, supplies are covered with the well-stocked supermarket, Beach Shack and the Coast Takeaway for essential holiday fish and chips. Looking for even more to do? Ladram Bay Holiday Centre has a programme of instructor-led activities for a reasonable extra charge, where grownups and kids can try their hands at raft building, sea scooters and body zorbing. Or have a day on the centre’s private beach, with watersports from the shore, rockpooling towards the far end and kayak, rowing boat or motorboat hire from the kiosk.

Liked: The Staff were great, every single one of them, really friendly & helpful. Inhouse entertainment team were also great. The chefs cooked really well with a great menu.

Disliked: Large group of rugby players were very noisy, couldn't here the group play at all. Very muddy pitch almost got stuck (113) getting on and off. almost no breakfast options, could do with a good breakfast buffet. not much to do during the day for adults on a rainy day.

Liked: Very clean site.

Disliked: Not really dog friendly at all. You are allowed to bring yr dog but they’re not allowed anywhere inside or at all on the beach which is just unbelievable. Another customer complained about this and they replied saying they want to keep all their customers happy. But they’re not keeping their dog owning customers happy just making them feel unwelcome.

Liked: For a couple with a 1.5yr old everything was very easy. So much stuff for children to do during the day and lots of activities like soft play to tire them out!! the indoor swimming pool with slides was some of the best we've been too, all booked with time slots so that its never to busy. This is the same as Sunday Roast which was very high quality as was all the food and drinks, certainly not what you would expect in UK holiday park, in terms of quality (Pitches/Toilets/Showers/Food/Drink/Entertainment) Ladram Bay is up there with the best!

Disliked: Red mud around pitches and a steep walk back from the entertainment to the pitches. But if anything this helps burn off all the gorgeous food you've just eaten

From the manager: We are so pleased that you found Ladram to be an easy option for your family getaway, it certainly sounds that you all had a great time using all of our facilities and dining on-site. We hope that you come back and visit us in 2024. Kind regards Aimee and the Ladram Bay team

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Pitches fine. Views of sea spectacular. Tons of kids activities: Great indoor swimming pool, crazy golf, indoor rock climbing etc. It was a bit rainy this half term so it was ideal to have some indoor active things to do. The walks right off the site and along the coast path are beautiful. The little beach is also really lovely, even in the wind and rain! Staff were all v friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. It was super clean and seemed to run efficiently.

Disliked: I thought there could’ve been more planting of shrubs and trees in between pitches. It felt a bit bare. Maybe some people like that? Surprised that we had to pay extra for crazy golf & swimming. Felt food was expensive and not reflected in quality (£13 for a meh lasagne). I don’t mind paying more for good food but it didn’t feel like good value. Also, I really don’t like having do download an app just to order food in the restaurant. I like to have a server to talk to. Perhaps this is really good to limit how run off their feet the staff are in the high season. The staff were all friendly tho, but the restaurant manager used our visit to patronisingly train the new staff member in front of us which made that pretty awkward for her and us…

From the manager: Many thanks for your feedback, it sounds like you really made the most of our on-site facilities and our direct access to the Jurassic coast. We do love to hear that you found our staff friendly and felt that the park was efficiently ran. We will forward on your comments regarding the food and service in our restaurant to our Retail Manager. We do hope that you choose to return in the future. Kind regards Aimee and the Ladram Bay team

2 bedroom camping pod

Liked: I always judge the places I stay on the toilets! And they were immaculate! The showers were always hot. The pod I stayed in was clean. The onsite fish a chip shop was brilliant. I didn't make use of all the facilities but there seemed plenty for the family. If like us you like your costal walks this made a great base. Would definitely go again.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Very clean site, plenty of toilets and showers on the wash room. Really friendly staff throughout the park. Level serviced pitches, good touring facilities. Lots for the kids to do and they were able to explore the site. It is quite a large site but it didn’t feel overcrowded and was nice and quiet.

Disliked: It didn’t detract from a good holiday but I agree with other comments about lack of bins/recycling for touring pitches. It would have helped to have had some closer, easier to find. The path from our pitch down to the main site was rather overgrown and not particularly well lit. I think this could be improved.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your perfect ten review, we are so pleased to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us and that you would rate us as an excellent site for a fun packed family holiday. We appreciate your constructive feedback about the pathway and recycling area and have forwarded the comments on to our Operations Manager. We do hope you come back and stay again soon. Local attractions

Once you’re ready to go off site – sometime around week two, probably – the South West Coast Path is steps away and has stellar walks to Budleigh Salterton to the west and Sidmouth to the east. Inland, the Budleigh Salterton to Otterton five-mile walk follows the banks of the River Otter; the Otter Valley Wildlife Walk is an easy stroll through the Lower Otter Valley nature reserve to look out for kingfishers and waders from the river’s viewing platforms and hides. Twitchers can also head inland to the Exe Estuary RSPB reserve 13 miles away to see migratory birds or book a boat trip to spot avocets. Finally, if fishing’s your main hook, you won’t have far to go: many Ladram Bay guests fish from the park’s own cove, hiring a boat from the kiosk and going out to land mackerel for the barbie.
