Route directions

By ferry: the nearest ferry port is Plymouth. By plane: the nearest airport is Exeter International Airport which is approximately 30 miles away. By car: from the M5, join the A38 towards Plymouth. Leave the A38 signed for Modbury and Ermington on to the A3121 at Wrangaton Cross (once you reach the top of the slip road off the A38, Moor View Touring Park is signposted, simply follow the signs). Proceed one mile to the crossroads (Kittaford Cross). At Kittaford Cross go straight across the junction and follow the road for about 4 miles. Ignore your satnav when you get to half a mile from your destination as it will tell you to turn left at California Cross. Go past the petrol station and pub, follow the road round to the right and Moor View will be on your left-hand side after a quarter of a mile.

Local attractions

As well as being in the heart of stunning landscape, there is a wonderful dining pub and handy mini-supermarket just a short walk away. Slightly further afield you will be truly spoilt for choice whether you are exploring Dartmoor, hiking on the coastal path or discovering yet another one of the sandy, shingle beaches close by, all with their different characteristics. For surfing, Bantham ticks the boxes, however so does Bigbury with its iconic Pilchard Inn where time just stands still, and then there's also the lovely little isolated coves, some of which can only be found on foot. Of course, no holiday is complete without food and that's another area where the South Hams comes into its own. Riverford Farm will happily deliver organic food boxes direct to your tent and the great local butcher will have you longing to fire up the barbecue. Local tearooms, fabulous country restaurants and a well-liked favourite, The Oyster Shack, are all within a short drive away. Enjoy some well-deserved retail therapy in Modbury, Salcombe or Dartmouth's quaint streets which offer everything from local boutiques and art galleries to popular retailers. Make time for an ice cream, perhaps sit on a harbour wall and watch the world (or at least a yacht or two) go by.
