  • Spacious and family-friendly park two miles from Sidmouth
  • Seaton, Lyme Regis and Crealy Theme Park within 20 minutes' drive
  • Play area, putting green and games space on site; dogs welcome
Setting off for the seaside at Sidmouth? It’s an excellent choice for a holiday destination, whether you’re travelling in a couple, bringing the family or simply setting off for a bit of a break on your own. And an equally excellent choice is a stay at Salcombe Regis Camping and Caravan Park – quite possibly the closest holiday park to Sidmouth. This spacious and well-kept park is about two miles from the seaside town, in a quiet spot surrounded by the lovely scenery of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Settle yourselves in here (and feel free to bring the dog, by the way) and you’ll be in a prime position for making the most of your east Devon location, taking in hotspots all along the Jurassic Coast, heading out for rural rambles and/or packing in family attractions like The Donkey Sanctuary, Pecorama and Crealy Theme Park (or seeking out gardens and National Trust properties, if that’s more your thing…) Spending a bit of time on site isn’t a bad plan either – this family-friendly park has a putting green, a play area and plenty of space for ball games and general running about. On a more practical front, there’s a small food shop, a launderette, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal area, as well as a heated amenities block with toilets and free hot showers.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Great quiet site(though it is early in the season) good facilities. Friendly , welcoming staff, encouraging people to explore giving directions where to walk . I enjoyed a very muddy walk to the beach and a pleasant morning with the donkeys.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Great welcome on arrival. It was fairly quiet, so they gave us a choice of 2 pitches. The toilet and shower blocks were good. One of them was very new. Staff on site we're very helpful and gave us a lot of information. We liked it a lot. There was a slope on the site but there were blocks around for us to use.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly warm welcome from the staff. Very helpful regarding the site facilities, escorting us to our pitch and a follow up to ensure all was well. Very keen to pass on local information for walks and places worth a visit. Could not fault the attention to detail.

Disliked: Disappointed with the high cost of parking fees on site for Motorhome users

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We were upgraded to an all service pitch which was very nice. Except we couldn’t take advantage as no equipment. But a very nice gesture. Very friendly owner

Disliked: No shop. It would have been good to have basic food like milk and bread. So the nearest shop was about 2 miles so had to use car. Otherwise no other dislikes.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Our first impression of this site was great. Very neat and tidy looking. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us to our pitch. We had a choice of two different blocks for showers and toilets. One was more modern but both were kept extremely clean, the best we've ever had. Great to have a hairdryer to use.The washing up facilities were really good too and there was also use of a freezer for your ice packs. There were washer/dryers for your use with a reasonable charge. We found the campsite to be nice and quiet and the pitches a good size.Lovely country views. The nearest supermarket was less than 10 mins by car. We would use this site again if revisiting the area.

Disliked: Nearby churchbells chiming hourly. Dont know if this is a regular thing but maybe pack your earplugs incase. It is absolutely no reflection on this fantastic site.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The site was in a lovely location and had a misty sea view, this was a bonus. More importantly, the pitches were well-spaced and the site has many open spaces which were much appreciated and added to the calm ambiance of the location, lovely sunsets, and the sweet sounds of surrounding nature not obscured by crowding which we have experienced on some sites. Patrick and Cecilia were excellent friendly and informative when we arrived and then left us to enjoy the site, they also ensured that all the essential cleaning and maintenance work was undertaken with minimum inconvenience to campers. We expect rules on sites however the rules were common sense and considerate for all, I never once felt regimented which some other sites are prone to, and the notices in the common areas were relevant, not condescending which sadly is often the case in larger sites. Facilities were clean and basic and more than adequate for our needs Thanks for all at Salcombe Regis, our stay was lovely and we hope to visit again when we are in the area

Disliked: Nothing a well-run site with a relaxed atmosphere
