  • Well-maintained amenities including heated shower block
As most folk know, country rambles are an absolute must when holidaying in Dorset. So it's most fortuitous that Oathill Farm Holiday and Touring Park's lovely location allows for easy access to many human- and dog-friendly walks. Not only do these start straight from the site, they go along public footpaths and a network of country lanes, over bridges and rivers to local beauty spots like Forde Abbey House and Gardens, Pilsdon Pen and Wayford Woods. The family crew at Oathill have been running things in a relaxed, friendly and well-kept manner for years at their neatly landscaped site, set over 10 acres of Dorset countryside, with landscaped ponds and separate designated recreational and dog walking areas. All of this provides a peaceful environment for guests, in keeping with the stunning local Dorset landscapes such as the seaside scenery of Lyme Regis, 12 miles away. The team prides itself on the standard of its facilities and amenities: guests have the use of a heated toilet and shower block, a washing-up area, a washer and a dryer.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The location was great, easy access to the coast, sight seeing, supermarkets etc. Great site layout with all gravel pitches, friendly owner & clean facilities. Had the place to ourself so using facilities was good. Good hot showers, very clean. Recycling was good, washer/ dryer if needed. Will return but out of peak season. Nice big pitches, plenty of room, very tidy, planters all over & well maintained.

Disliked: With only 2 showers, toilets & basins in both the female & male washrooms this could be a struggle in peak periods. Good hot showers however a chair or something would be useful, especially if you have young children with you, only hooks available in the shower cubicles some outside opposite the basins. Shower area big enough for a small chair.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: We loved this campsite. Surrounded by trees, nowhere is far from the facilities (which were very clean and warm), easy to find too. Pitches are a great size and clear directions were left for us as we arrived early evening which was great. On our first night we heard an owl hooting which was lovely and there is a lovely lake to walk around with the dog.

Disliked: No wifi, but good phone reception.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Great site. Very friendly hosts who gave us advice on local area. Not to far to travel to Charmouth, Seatown and nearby National Trust sites. The pitches were a good size, level and had water points nearby. There were also good scenic views over the countryside. The mobile signal was good so we could use it for Wifi and the like. Didn’t try to access regular Wifi so can’t comment on it. For anyone interested in chalets there were several on site and they looked fantastic. We were in a touring caravan but for those looking for an alternative to a static caravan these looked brilliant. All though the weather was not up to much we still had a great time and as Oathill Farm is not too far away for us we hope to visit again sometime.
