  • Family park close to Poole, Studland and Sandbanks
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, amusement arcade, play areas and kids' clubs
  • Bowling, crazy golf, ice cream parlour, restaurant and clubhouse
Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches within easy reach… From its peaceful Holton Heath woodland setting, it's just a short journey to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole – all of which are within a half-hour drive. Boredom's not an option here, where the activities include a summer outdoor and indoor pool complex, a dedicated musical play pool for toddlers, courts for tennis and many other sports, bikes and pedal go-karts for hire, and nature trails crisscrossing the site. Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the kids around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour. The park also has three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film-making and DJ workshops… plus the free wifi on site). Young’uns should also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, with a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia. Recharge your batteries at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Then top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Troupers: you should sleep well after that lot…

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Large pitch, close to toilet block, good sized restaurant and show bar, well stocked shop onsite, plenty of activities on site, nice little dog walk. Located close to Poole, Swanage, Durdle Door etc.. so good for exploring.

Disliked: Large refuse bins located approx 2m from our pitch, no solid fence around, bit of an eyesore, water supply and large open drain within 1m of pitch! Toilet block, hardly any flushable toilets and showers not great, spray everywhere so soak towels and clothing. There wasn't a clear programme about what entertain was on. Could do with more lighting around touring area, especially around activity hub, very dark there when walking back to pitches at night.

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Entertainment staff are great and really friendly.

Disliked: The condition of the toilets where horrendous and not in a useable condition during our stay, luckily we had a caravan to have a shower in ect. Half the blocks where closed and ones that where open had toilets hanging off the wall, showers hanging off the wall.

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Evening entertainment was good if you managed to get a table

Disliked: Pitches were very muddy. Toilets were the worst I’ve ever seen. Everything costs a bomb. Unable to book any activities as they were all booked up prior to us getting to site. We left early and will never return

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Main centre of the park was very clean tidy and up to date

Disliked: Holiday park is very much geared up for static caravans. Touring pitches are at the very back of the site. Long walk to get to main section of the park where food and amusements etc is present. No indication that we needed to go to a different reception so parked for main reception then had to move again (staff were lovely). At main touring section, toilets appeared to be infrequently cleaned, I used in the morning with majority of stalls out of toilet paper. Shower was like being spat on the lack of pressure was pathetic whilst only one other person using. Leak in ladies toilet didn’t even get a bucket put under it for two days. Washing up area had no hot water and the light didn’t work. Had to get my 5 yr old to hold the torch whilst I got tepid water from men’s toilet and then wash up by torch light. WiFi was absolutely pathetic on site, not much phone signal which is expected but the provided WiFi wouldn’t even work well enough to use the Parkdean app to order food through, which you’re suggested to do

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The pitch we were finally pitched on was superb.

Disliked: When we arrived there was no one at the Touring office to check us in. Had to wait 30 mins at Reception for security to arrive to help us out. No pack was ready. Our pitch was boggy and we had trouble reversing on the pitch. Next morning we spoke to security regarding our pitch, and he moved us to another pitch, as there was a no show. We arrived back to our new pitch after a day out, and the pitch was taken! Spoke to security and he said to move to another pitch, and choose the best, which we did. Management is appalling.

Liked: Clean site .main buildings was excellent.and facilities around main building were excellent

Disliked: Toilets on touring site needed updating.clean but not all the toilets had toilet rolls in them .no cost hangers on doors .only two hand dryers in toilets .we had the burger meal the slaw had so ends and the lettuce in buns was was not trimmed and had the core in it .more water stands for tourers. signes saying where water taps are ..and the roads on touring site needed signs saying numbers .and some more lighting on main road and signs for each road.looks like touring park seems to be a add on .touring reception sign needs to be more obvious on road way

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Pool was clean and well ran. Arcade was lots of fun. All facilities clean and well maintained. Good range of out door activities for older children.

Disliked: More daytime indoor options would be good - for a wider range of ages. Craft activities are not for everyone. Maybe an indoor sports hall would be beneficial. Some of the activities were overpriced for the amount of time scheduled. No WiFi for touring pitches.

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list). Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park has thrills for kids of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in, and action men (and women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum. There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest saltwater lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
