Wey hey! You get two parks for the price of one at Seaview Holiday Park near Weymouth in Dorset, with full access to the facilities at the neighbouring Haven site, Weymouth Bay - plus a ravishing rural setting and cracking views of the Jurassic Coast thrown in for free... You could spend the morning whooping it up on the turbo paddlers and aqua gliders in the newly refurbished indoor pool at Seaview, have a spot of lunch in the comfy Quayside bar and diner, then toddle along the nature trail to try out the Lazy River water ride next door. If you prefer to stay dry, there are loads of sports to try, including fencing and archery, and a mini ten-pin bowling alley, and over at Weymouth Bay, there’s crazy golf and karts for hire. Beachwise, it’s a 15- to 20-minute stroll from Seaview Holiday Park to Bowleaze Cove, a splendid stretch of pebble beach with calm waters that are ideal for swimming and watersports; or of course, the blissful beach at Weymouth, just a few minutes’ drive to the south. Haven’s FunStars will keep the younger members of your team amused with arty, sporty, wild and creative fun in the fab free kids’ clubs, and there’s a packed programme of entertainment from day to night for all the family, with live shows, visiting bands, dancing, comedy and magic. Young Bear Grylls in the making can get stuck into the wildly entertaining Nature Rockz activities run at the park. From bushcraft to building shelters, pond dipping to beachcombing, kids learn and experience all sorts. Most activities are free but a small charge may apply to some. As 'buy one, get one free' offers go, we reckon this one sounds like a pretty good bet...

Local attractions

Weymouth is just a few minutes’ drive from Seaview Holiday Park, and is understandably popular with families for its fabulous sheltered beach (complete with donkey rides, sand sculptures, Punch and Judy and other traditional fun), pretty seventeenth century harbour, and visitor attractions such as the Sea Life Park and Nothe Fort. Attached to Weymouth by the miles of shingle of Chesil Bank is the naturally beautiful isle of Portland, where you can clamber around Portland Bill; this imposing lighthouse is a famous landmark among sailors and locals alike, with a history dating back 300 years. Guests at Seaview Holiday Park are well-placed for an exploration of the natural wonders of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Durdle Door, a jaw-dropping stone arch, and the perfect horseshoe curve of Lulworth Cove, with its adjacent castle, are not to be missed. Adventure Wonderland in Bournemouth is an all-inclusive family theme park with plenty of outdoor rides and a large Aztec-inspired indoor play zone. Older kids (aged 10 and over) can monkey around on the “Go Ape” treetop ropes course at Moors Valley Country Park High; alternatively, the real live rescue chimps at Monkey World will appeal to all ages. Peel off to Poole Harbour for the day for a spot of sailing or fishing; traditionalists might also like to visit the Poole Pottery museum. If you’re a bird lover, a walk amidst the 600-plus nesting mute swans at Abbotsbury Swannery may leave you speechless; or you could stride around Studland Bay - the heathland behind its four miles of golden beach accommodates large populations of wildfowl, plus reptiles, rare butterflies, deer and wild flowers.
