  • Small family-run touring park two minutes from Junction 22 of the M5
  • A couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea
  • Easy access to the Mendip Hills, Weston-super-Mare and Glastonbury
Green, Somerset-based and adults-only: what a splendidly relaxed and smashingly scenic place this is – and all just a couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea. This small and family-run touring park is only two minutes' drive from Junction 22 of the M5 too, so bring your wheels and base yourself firmly here for some time around Somerset seaside days, handsome old towns, ancient sites (Glastonbury!) and green countryside and hills around which to ramble. Off further afield? Stop off here on the way to or from a holiday in Cornwall. Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park has a level touring field with grass pitches. Chemical disposal points are on site for guests' use, along with a toilet block and heated showers in large cubicles with wet and dry areas. There's also free wifi. Dogs are very welcome, but please keep them on leads at all times on site. A pub serving food is ten minutes' walk away; shops, pubs, restaurants, a supermarket, bus service and Highbridge train station are all within five minutes' drive.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Small 10 pitch immaculately kept site. Clean and tidy. Level pitches which are well spaced. Shower and toilet block has 2 separate toilets which are the best I have seen so far. Exceptionally clean with lots of thoughtful touches. Site is off a main road, gate is shut at night and feels very secure. Would be happy to stay there as a lone person. Supermarket near by and a great location for Weston Super Mare and Barrow on Sea. Owners have made a real effort to keep the site well maintained with the added bonus of a folder loaned to us on arrival with local places of interest, things to do and local history. Wi-Fi code on arrival which was a nice bonus. Would definitely return.

Disliked: There is some road noise which is not constant and you can still hear the birds sing in the morning.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely site with large gravel pitches and a grass area. Individual spotless washrooms with extra added touches . One mile from junction 22 of M5. Ideal for overnight stay.

Disliked: Next to a main road which was busy constantly . Would love to pick up this site and move it to a quieter area.

Due to location of M5 it would be suitable for a stop over on route.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Cleanliness of the site and the facilities was excellent.

Disliked: Road noise which was relentless all day and all night, enough to prevent a good night's sleep. It is on a busy main road, we didn't walk anywhere from there due to this road making it feel unsafe. Unfotunately the rudeness of male owner upon our arrival, we have never been spoken to or disregarded like this on any other site and this spoilt the rest of our stay. If we could have got our money back we would not have stayed.

From the manager: Many thanks for your review. The main issue here is your total disrespect for our property. Mr Dodd was too lazy to use his motor mover and decided it was acceptable to drive back and forth all over our immaculate grass in multiple attempts to pitch his caravan. If you had asked for a refund it would not have been a problem, as you outstayed your welcome, as soon as you arrived.

Tidy and beautifully maintained site.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: This is a very tidy and beautifully maintained park. Facilities are very clean and welcoming. Plenty of supermarkets close by and the benefit of Highbridge Caravans being about half a mile away for all your caravan needs. A small adult only park which is great if you want a nice quiet place to sit and relax. WIFI is free and a good signal. A small dog walking area for those with a need. Mark and Linda the owners are very welcoming and friendly. The only negative comment that I have is that it is close to the road so you do experience traffic noise although that wasn't too much of an issue and soon get used to it. Would I use the park again, most definitely.

Local attractions

Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park is a mere two miles from the long sandy beaches of Burnham-On-Sea and within easy access of famed Somerset seaside town Weston-super-Mare, home of more sands, a most Grand Pier and Britain's only helicopter museum. To the north is the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Mendip must not only for their viewsome hikes among the gorges and woodland rising up from the Somerset Levels, but also for the eye-wateringly fab Cheddar Gorge, carved into the hills and so gorge-ous it's been named as Britain's second greatest natural wonder (the Dan-yr-Ogof caves in Wales are first). Going east will take you to also very famed Glastonbury, with its Tor, Chalice Well, 170 listed buildings and the Somerset Rural Life Museum; a short distance from there is the village of Street and to the north you'll find the tiny city of Wells. Other top options are the county town of Taunton, surrounded by the Blackdown and Quantock Hills, and the Bredon Hills to the south-west, running all the way along to Exmoor National Park.
