  • Eco-friendly campsite with a relaxed atmosphere
  • Peaceful and remote island location for family getaways
  • Natural pool, bike hire and organic fruit and veg to pick
The Lismore Bunkhouse and Campsite is a family-friendly and eco-friendly site on the ten mile-long Isle of Lismore, set over six acres of land among spectacular views. The team is committed to being environmentally friendly on all areas of the site and its land: 2,500 native trees have been planted (on the way to a goal of 10,000), solar heated water, an air source heat pump and photovoltaic electricity are all used – and there's even a natural swimming pool if you fancy an island dip. Guests can pick organic fruit and veg on site for their own use (season dependent), hire bikes and plant trees using free seedlings. The island is accessible by car or passenger ferry.

Local attractions

The Isle of Lismore is a haven for walkers and cyclists, as well as for history fans, with plenty of heritage sites to explore along with an award-winning museum and heritage centre. Get out by foot or bike to Lismore's historical sites, including the museum and the Lismore Gaelic Heritage Centre and the Sailean Limekilns at the island's harbour, all among spectacular scenery stretching over to mainland sites such as Ben Nevis and Glencoe Mountain. Nature spotting is also popular, with over 100 species of birds to see. Travelling by ferry, more nature can be seen via a boat tour; you could try watersports in Port Appin, or have a day among the castles, museums, restaurants and cafés of Oban.
