  • Direct access to a north Wales beach
  • Miles of dog-friendly walking paths in the immediate area
  • Bar, bowling alley and pool tables
You may have heard that the beaches of north Wales are something rather special… so might you like direct access to a long sandy stretch with promenade, dunes and cycle paths? Have a fab family stay at Denbighshire's Ffrith Beach Touring Park. This is a dog-friendly park too, with miles of canine-suited walking paths accessible right outside, and is two minutes' walk from the beach with easy access to the busy seaside towns of Prestatyn and Rhyl. The peaks, hikes and waterfalls of Snowdonia National Park are reachable within about an hour. Amenities and facilities are well managed at this friendly coastline campsite: there's an on-site bar serving up food and big sports events on its giant screen; there's also an amusement arcade, pool tables, and an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley, along with a newly-built shower block that includes free hot showers, disabled facilities and a launderette.

Local attractions

Long strolls along the promenade and the local dog-friendly walking paths are top picks around here for those staying local; the beach is two minutes away and both Prestatyn and Rhyl are within easy reach. Drive about an hour for Snowdonia National Park, for days exploring it by car, foot, bike or horse's hoof, getting to its heritage sites like Blaenau Ffestiniog, or puffing around it by steam railway (including one vintage trip right to the top of Snowdon via the Snowdon Mountain Railway). The Ffrith Beach Touring Park team also recommends trips to local highlights like Orme, Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo and Llechwedd Slate Caverns – and if that's just not enough, there's also Conwy and Caernarfon castles, Rhyl SeaQuarium, Bodnant Garden, the Isle of Anglesey…
