What's in a name.... Jonathan and Melissa Cox were looking for a lorry and saw this one for sale with their initials on it. J and M Cox - serendipity or what. It just had to be theirs. The site is on a small traditional Welsh farm on the borders of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The lorry, Branwen is sited along a hedge line in a 5-acre field of traditional pasture. This boho chic vintage lorry offers you a unique off-grid experience. The views down the Nant Colomendy are spectacular. You will be on your own there, under starlit skies by night offering tranquility and solitude. There are red Kites nesting in the woods 200 metres away. A circular walk through our 8-acre wood will give you the chance to see badgers at night. The owners have a small flock of mountain sheep, and horses which you will see grazing in adjacent fields. Branwen has a rolling exhibition of their own artwork, with prints and originals for sale. The lorry is heated by a wood-burning range made by a local blacksmith. Relax in splendid isolation and cook a pizza in the wood fired range. Adjacent to the beautiful lorry is a cabin with loo, shower and sink. Outside there is a picnic table, barbecue and open air sink for washing-up. There is a Spar convenience store in the historic Village of Llanboidy 1.5 miles north, which is a brisk 20 minutes walk. Whitland 4 miles south has a Co-operative supermarket, butchers, baker, pharmacy and veg shop, tea rooms and a mainline station connecting to Carmarthen and Swansea/ Cardiff to the east and Haverfordwest, Tenby and Pembroke to the West. Melissa and Jonathan are both artists. Tailor made tuition in sculpture, painting, and drawing at all levels may be available in their light and spacious studios if you are at all artistically inclined, and fancy combining your stay with some creative zest.
