  • Quiet and roomy site on a hill above the village of Kilgetty
  • Overlooking the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • Set on 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds
Spectacular Welsh countryside scenery is viewable from all around Ryelands Holiday Park in south Wales, for it sits high on a hill above the comely town of Kilgetty and overlooks the lush landscape of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Beaches? Scenic Saundersfoot is but a couple of miles away. Space galore is all around the site: it's set in 10 acres of mature and well-kept grounds in which to lounge, laze or kick a ball about. (A small play area is also to hand for the kids.) The amenities block, cleaned every day, has free hot water to three showers and four sinks, as well as plenty of toilets for both ladies and gents. A big dishwashing sink is at the front of the building. Supplies and suppers can be picked up at Kilgetty village less than half a mile away, which has takeaways and a fish and chip shop, a pub, a well-stocked supermarket and a post office. Trains and buses are in town too for exploring along the Pembrokeshire coast and further afield.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Toilets were clean and showers were hot. The staff and owner were very welcoming and friendly they also communicated well before the arrival about conditions and gave instructions due to the wet pitches with the heavy rain experienced before we arrived.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The people on the site and the wardens were amazing.

Disliked: The toilets are very dated and grubby and we couldn't get on our pitch the first night and also couldn't get hold of the site owner, the wardens looked after us very well though so thank you. The site would be lovely with nice toilets.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Me and my partner came to this site just after the bank holiday weekend, the wardens that greeted us were great and gave us some great tips on where to pitch up! We stayed for three nights in total, the field we were in was nice and open with plenty of space and the facilities were clean and tidy. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a short drive from the campsite. Overall we loved our stay here and will definitely be back !!

Local attractions

Just behind the pitching field is access to the Miners' Walk of south Pembrokeshire, the circular trail to and from Kilgetty that winds past old industrial sites of the area. Leave Ryelands Holiday Park and stroll downhill through woodland for 40 minutes or so to join the famed Pembrokeshire Coast Path at the Wisemans Bridge Inn – obviously with a stopoff first for a sup at the inn garden and its smashing views over Carmarthen Bay… Indoor and outdoor attractions and activities of all flavours are within a five-mile radius of the site, such as family days out at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo two miles away, Oakwood Theme Park four miles away and the Blue Lagoon Water Park within five miles. The sands and sea of handsome seaside town Saundersfoot are a couple of miles away. Slightly further afield are more family days at Heatherton World of Activities six miles away, and the beaches of Tenby a mile further along the coast.
