  • Dog-friendly rural retreat in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • A five-minute drive from several beaches and 10 minutes from Tenby
  • Fully-equipped cook shack, barbecue and firepit; dog exercise paddock
Families, couples, dogs, hikers, surfers and climbers assemble… based in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Glamping At The Paddocks is a rural retreat that’s just five minutes’ drive from a cluster of sandy south Pembrokeshire beaches. That’s not all, though, as the harbour town of Tenby is 10 minutes’ drive away too, with yet more sandy beaches, fish and chips and seal-spotting boat trips that visit Caldey Island. A small, friendly place this certainly is… the luxury five-metre bell tents are set up on a working farm, each with their own allocated toilet, hot gas shower, fully-equipped cook shack, barbecue and firepit. That’s a lot for the humans to look forward to, but dogs also have a large, secure dog exercise paddock awaiting them. There’s a welcome hamper with goodies from the local farm shop to get you started, but this area is also geared up for foodies, with plenty of family-friendly and dog-friendly eateries nearby. St Florence (25 minutes’ walk) and Manorbier (35 minutes) both have a pub and shop and there’s a garden centre (15 minutes’ walk) with a café that serves everything from coffee to Sunday dinners. Main supermarkets can be tracked down in Tenby and there's a petrol station five minutes’ drive away too. Nicely fed and watered, you might want to head to one of a handful of beaches five minutes’ drive away - Skrinkle Haven Beach, Lydstep beach, Manorbier beach and Swanlake beach. Also handy are the activity centres, watersports and adventure zoo a short drive away. Upon your return, pour a glass of wine and unwind on the table and chairs or handcrafted picnic bench outside your spacious bell. Furnishings inside include a double bed with an orthopaedic mattress, quality linen and duvet and deep flocked air beds for any extra guests or children.

Liked: We loved our stay at the paddocks. We travelled by train and it was a short walk from Manorbier train station. Great location as it is approximately half an hour walk to st Florence and manobier. The tent and facilities were very clean and we had a lovely welcome. We also took our two spaniels and they loved every minute!

Liked: Setting was stunning, so peaceful. Well situated. The owners were helpful and friendly, they literally thought of everything! Very well equipped. Shower and toilet was immaculate and allocated to your tent, so no waiting around for a free shower or toilet. The tent was beautifully furnished and catered to our party well. We will definitely be going back!

Bell tent

Liked: The site was not so easy to find . The tent smelled of urine. It was raining and the canvas tent made the bedding damp and cold . Internet space but OK if you have EE . No electric hook up and can only charge up at the farm building. Would be much better to camp on another site pay a lot less than 100.pounds per night and have hook up for a safe camping heater . We payed for 5 nights and had to leave after one night as my husband has a lung condition my so was crying as the bedding was damp and cold . Not camp owners problem with the rain but definitely cannot sleep with damp bedding on you .And trust me when I tell you I'm a hardened biker and have camped all my life. Not luxury glam ping only fit for purpose in warm dry weather. Sorry.

From the manager: We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us. The Welsh weather can be challenging at times and staying off grid under canvas is not for everyone. We were surprised to learn of your dissatisfaction after your departure as no mention was made during your stay, or in your husbands conversation with the site owner when you were leaving. We would have happily listened to your concerns and checked the bell tent with you. With regards to electric and heaters we are advertised as fully off grid. The site owner is however happy to charge devices in the farmhouse as she mentioned to you on arrival. Mobile phone signal in rural Pembrokeshire is very dependant on network and this is beyond our control. Our bell tents are bought new at the start of each season (June) and are freshly carpeted with new high quality carpets supplied by a local business. These carpets are replaced if there are any spillages etc. Therefore we can not understand why you felt the tent smelled of urine ? Guests had been in this tent before you and have been since with no complaints. The bedding in the tent was stripped out after you left as it is routinely. We make up beds on the morning of guests arrival so your bedding had been on just 24 hours and was dry and fresh when removed. We have had no problems with damp bedding through 2 seasons even in the most inclement weather of recent storms Anthony and Betty ! (See reviews below ) We provide our guests with a detailed arrivals email prior to their stay and you were kind enough to message us when you received that further clarifying some details of your stay. We wish you all the best in finding more appropriate accomodation for your family in the future.

Book today, tranquillity, working farm and super comfy bed.

Bell tent

Liked: Exactly as described on their website 😃 what a beautiful place to stay in a bell tent, everything you need on arrival, lots to do and see, undercover kitchen and main area all covered for our unpredictable weather, the owners of the site were so helpful, a lovely area with everything around you. Your dogs will also love the private exercise paddock with agility. Flushing toilets which I didn’t expect camping.

Disliked: Our Welsh weather which we cannot control, the bell tents held up great in the one evening of wind and rain and so sturdy and waterproof 😃
