General
- Quiet wildlife haven by the River Ithon
- Peaceful and sheltered setting with free fishing on site
- Licensed bar with Welsh beers, malt whiskies and more
Now this is a site that's fully in tune with its surroundings... peaceful and sheltered Disserth Caravan and Camping Park is in a wildlife haven on the banks of the River Ithon, where red kites and buzzards hover overhead and where you might catch a glimpse of the resident otter or kingfisher.
Grayling trout fishing is available on site too and is free for guests; just remember to bring your rod licence. Junior explorers enjoy seeing what they can uncover in the depths with a net here as well; no licence required. (If angling's your thing, this is the area for it: the River Ithon is a tributary of the mighty River Wye, one of the best spots in the country for fishing and visited by anglers the world over to land salmon and trout from its waters.)
Disserth Caravan and Camping Park is also quite in tune with what guests might fancy on hol, as it has a licensed bar with a good selection of Welsh beers and malt whiskies, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee. Its well-kept amenities are in a modern log cabin with individual rooms, all with a toilet and washbasin and most also with a shower.
Laundry and dishwashing facilities are also on site.

From the manager...
What a contrasting review to the one immediately below. Your first visit and obviously you had no difficulty finding the bar. Furthermore you were pitched next to the budding brass musician without complaint. Enjoy your travels |

From the manager...
Always one to pick up a challenge, here is the response from the 'odd' manager. Yes we have one toilet that has a short 'on' period out of six available,(it is to stop you falling asleep). As to the music practise it would appear you were the only ones bothered possibly because he was not 'murdering' his brass instrument. There were a number of other park guests soaking up the September sun and they were not offended by the music. If only you had asked, someone would have pointed you in the direction of the bar and you could have joined in the Saturday motorbike conversations as the vintage bikes obviously caught your eye and interest, the barman however was the 'odd manager'. The only comment as manager I would make is it is sad we have become a nation of 'reviewers' and not talkers. If you had looked at a map before booking it would have been obvious the park is in the middle of countryside and hence 'quiet' and then you would have avoided travelling to a park that was unsuitable for you. |

Also have a look at nearby Abbey Cym Hir Hall at Llandrindod Wells, a neo-Elizabethan country mansion built in the 19th century, and at the Judge's Lodgings in Presteigne, a recreation of a 19th-century judge's house – courtroom included.

Delighted you enjoyed your weekend Shepherd Hut stay. I will gladly apologise for my attitude and in hindsight I realise I appeared as a random stranger as we had not met at check in. My fault for watching the world cup rugby. Burning wood is a fire and not a BBQ, and the timber taken from our phone box store was treated wood which is not possibly the best choice for an open fire. As to helping yourself to the wood without permission, others can judge. Once again I apologise for my manner and attitude when I confronted you as I am sure you are very nice people.
