  • Small, family-run and friendly working farm close to Llandrindod Wells
  • Spectacular scenery for miles around
  • Next door to a golf course with clubhouse bar and restaurant
There's a lot going for small, friendly and family-run Llandrindod Hall Caravan and Campsite at Llandrindod Wells in Powys. First up, it's set in spectacular surroundings with just as spectacular views – and all within walking distance of the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Next, anyone up for angling? Coarse fishing is available on the town lake and fly fishing nearby on the River Ithon. Or how about teeing off – or a clubhouse tipple or vittle? An 18-hole golf course with clubhouse bar and restaurant is right next door. And then there's the walking – and pedalling... several footpaths to explore start direct from the site, bike tracks are within easy reach, and 15 minutes' drive will take you to the strolls and wildlife watching of the handsome Elan Valley. Books? Hay on Wye is just 20 miles away. Llandrindod Hall is a working farm, with excellently-kept amenities including modern toilets and showers, an indoor washing-up area and phone charger points for guests' use. Both barbecues and campfires are allowed, and – what a handy little touch – a butcher in Llandrindod Wells gives 10% off to Llandrindod Hall guests.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The view is amazing, grass pitches with plenty of room, toilets & showers are unisex but didn’t bother us, we got stuck in the grass but owners helped us out. Great site with a little church just up road

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful scenery, good room space between pitches. Good site for walks and the town (small not much there) within walking distance.

Disliked: No staff available. Their dog was left with the cleaner feeding him twice a day. Very hot weather and we gave him additional water.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Excellent location. Close to walk to rugby club and lake. Also close to town. Hill around site bit steep to walk up to but adds to the excitement of getting back to pitch

Disliked: Steep Hill, but only about 200 metres to walk up.

Liked: Views were stunning, facilities were amazing. Lake to visit is just down the lane.

Disliked: Absolutely hammered it down so couldn't do much as our daughter does not like the rain and it didn't really stop only stayed 1 night due to family emergency.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Very very quiet and great views over the hills. Particularly quiet as almost all pitches were empty despite it being school holidays.

Disliked: There are only 2 toilets and one Portaloo. Both toilets are in with showers so can’t be used separately. This wasn’t a problem at all for us as there was hardly anyone there but surely would be if the site was full.

Local attractions

It's in a rural and peaceful location, but there's loads to do around the site for all tastes, whether you want to tramp/pedal around the countryside via the numerous footpaths and cycle tracks, have a delve into some Welsh history, or see just how much cash you can expend shopping in the market towns and independent shops of Powys. Llandrindod Wells a 15-minute wander away has the country's National Cycle Museum, as well as that lake for fishing (and wildlife/wildfowl watching), a big heated pool, sports activities, bike hire and an indoor and outdoor bowling centre. A horse riding centre in nearby Dolau has cantering for all ages. Within 10 minutes' drive of Llandrindod Hall Caravan and Campsite is the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show Ground, home of the famed Royal Welsh Show, at Llanelwedd, and the Red Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader, where the birds swoop down for eats every day. You can/should also get along to the walks and wildlife of the Elan Valley and/or the Gothic mansion, 52 ornately decorated rooms and fab gardens of Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall, both 15 minutes away by car, and take a leisurely and literary amble around book town Hay on Wye, within 20 miles. If you'd rather stay very close to home on a family hol, an indoor play centre is only five minutes away.
