  • Remote rural site with spectacular views, close to Trefeglwysv village
  • Pony trekking, paintballing, fishing and golf locally
  • Woodland area, stream and woodland paths leaving from the grounds
Escape you most definitely will at this rural and remote site, for there’s nothing whatsoever between you and your scenic natural surrounds at this pleasant countryside place. Fret not if you seek supplies and climbs too though, as Escape Camping is handily set five minutes' drive from the amenities and village pub in nearby Trefeglwys, and is within 40 minutes’ drive of the spectacular lands of Snowdonia National Park. For surf, the waves off the long sandy stretch of Tywyn beach are about an hour to the west. Kids especially will love roaming and running about this handsome base, with wooded and open space aplenty to tear around and a tiny stream to safely splash in. For grownups, this is a peaceful place to settle down in for peaceful times, and woodland paths snake off from the site in all directions for shaded strolls. Thoroughly fitting for this sort of site, campfires and barbecues are most certainly allowed, so get a blaze going, sit back with tipple in hand and toast your toes as the sun sinks down below the distant Powys hills.

There’s lots to do here for outdoorsy types of all persuasions; in the local vicinity is a nine-hole golf course that offers tuition to golfers of all abilities, and the River Severn also lies close by should you want to try your angling skills elsewhere off site. A pony trekking centre is also nearby if you fancy checking out the area from the saddle. For town days, Llanidloes 15 minutes’ drive away has a good variety of museums, art galleries and exhibitions to amble around, and Newtown, 20 minutes by car, has the Theatre Hafren for dramatic sorts to get their fill of shows of all sorts. A 45-minute drive will take you to the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, for piles of splendid sights like the Mawddach estuary, Cadair Idris and the Aran Fawddwy mountain range. There are loads of scenic options for hiking, cycling and mountain biking excursions around the park too, such as those around Cregennan Lakes and the cracking Mawddach Trail.
