  • Cosy stays on a 30-acre smallholding 20 minutes from Knighton
  • Overlooking the River Teme and on Glyndwr's Way National Trail
  • Order a farmhouse takeaway for delivery to your accommodation
Scattered around the gorgeous gardens of a 30-acre family-run smallholding and centred around a traditional Welsh longhouse, Brandy House Farm has a collection of comfy units. Pick a Powys pad here and you’ll be well placed for all sorts of walks and other outdoorsy activities: Brandy House Farm is right on the border of England and Wales, on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with Glyndwr’s Way National Trail passing through its grounds. It also has direct access to 5,000 acres of the Crown Estate nature reserve. Not that you’ll need to stray far for views – there’s much to gawp at from the site, and plenty of space in which to lounge while doing so. Picnic tables are strategically placed to take in the vistas, and you can hire firepits to keep your mitts toasty. With Knighton only 10 miles away and Newton 12 miles away, it’s under half an hour’s drive to a choice of supermarkets and small independent shops. Pick up provisions in the local shop in Beguildy, two miles away, too, or order yourselves a farmhouse takeaway or a breakfast butty for delivery to your accommodation. The closest pub for drinks only is just half a mile away, but the pub in Beguildy (five minutes’ drive away) does great food. There are two waterless eco toilets on site and there are shared shower and washing-up facilities with hot and cold water at the farmstead approximately 50 yards from the accommodation.

Sycamore camping pod

Liked: The pod was small but had as much space as we needed. The small garden area was very well maintained and featured space for a fire. The scenery was lovely with horses and sheep all within 10m and there was absolutely no distributions from anyone. Very peaceful.
