Route directions

By car: Take the E70 motorway from Lyon to Bordeaux, come off at Exit 17 for Thenon/Saint Yriex La Perche. Follow the signs for Thenon and at the Thenon crossroads turn towards Montignac. We are situated 3km along the D6067 after exiting Thenon village. By plane: Nearest airports are Bergerac, Brive-la-Gaillarde, Bordeaux or Toulouse. By train: Nearest station is Périgueux or Brive-la-Gaillarde. Once there, change for Thenon (the local station), and the campsite is 6km away.

Local attractions

The Dordogne region is rich in culture and gastronomy with many interesting sites available for guests to explore, including the prehistoric cave drawings at the Lascaux Caves, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Close to caves, you will find the pretty village of Montignac, on the Vézère River, where you can visit the thirteen-century tourist office and the Prieure Saint Georges, which is now home to an exhibition space for local arts and crafts. Stroll along the little streets and look at the pretty houses on the edge of the river, with balconies on their top floor built out of wood and raised on wooden beams. Visit the Chateau de Losse, close to Montignac, and walk along the lovely gardens.The guided visit of the buildings will lead you through the various rooms of the castle all decorated in sixteenth-century style, giving you an insight into the castle as Jean II de Losse would have known it. 3km away from is the Appel de la Forêt treetop adventure course, while, for horse riding enthusiasts, the Ranch de Bernard is 6km away. You will also be able to hire canoes to cruise the Vézère river (11km).
