Local attractions

The campsite is conveniently located for a trip to the Pyrénées National Park, a nature reserve stretching along France’s mountainous border with Spain. Enjoy a number of outdoor activities including hiking and cycling near the lakes, waterfalls, forests and dramatic cliffs. It will be easy to spot one or two golden eagles, griffon vultures and you might even see some bears. Located within the Pyrénées National Park is the Cirque de Gavarnie, an immense wall of rock 1,700 metres high and 14km in circumference. It contains one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe (422m vertical drop) and is close to two other giants: the Cirque de Troumouse and the Cirque d’Estaubé. Other outdoor activities available in the nearby areas include horse-riding, paragliding, kayaking and swimming. Guests can also visit a number of small medieval villages such as Borce. Here you can also visit the animal park, home to marmots, Pyrenean chamois, bears, goat and sheep.
