Picture yourself close to nature: spending time outside, energetic days and lazy evenings in the warm sun, enjoying the quiet and stillness of the evening and seeing the undisturbed dew of the next morning... Then picture yourself in a striking, roomy and luxurious dome - this is camping as you've never known before! Hanging beds for the children, Fatboy beanbags for all, kingsize beds and high-quality mattresses all with bed linen provided. Cook your meals on the state-of-the-art plancha gas grill then lounge in the covered outside area for alfresco dining. This is camping with space, comfort and style! A lot of hard work and serious thought has gone into selecting just the right campsite for these fantastic domes. They’re striking enough to make an impact anywhere, but not just anywhere will do. We think we know what makes for a memorable and uniquely relaxing camping experience, and you'll find it here in the south west of France at Glisten. At Col d'Ibardin campsite, streams wind under small stone bridges, hills cluster in the distance and, slightly further afield, a mountain – La Rhune in the Pyrenees – looms through enormous old oaks. There is plenty to do here and in the surrounding area, but if you’d rather do very little, it is hard to imagine many places better suited to just sit back and relax. The high-quality facilities will not disappoint. There's a safe paddling pool for young children, a proper swimming pool for adults, a kids’ club, and activities, sports and games for teenagers. A beautiful, spacious site in perfect harmony with nature: Col d’Ibardin promises an amazing family camping holiday and is an ideal match for Glisten.

Route directions

Pack a car and drive down via any of the many cross-channel ferries available; sail to Santander and pop across the border, come via Eurostar and hook up to the TGV high-speed train, fly direct to Biarritz or to one of the airports within an hour or three: Bilbao, Bordeaux or Toulouse, for example. The campsite is located 5 minutes from the main toll road (A63, E70, E05) between San Sebastian and Bayonne. Turn off at Urrugne exit and head towards Col d'Ibardin.

Local attractions

France’s south-west corner enjoys a lovely warm average summer temperature – often in the mid-twenties – but the Atlantic is close enough to mean a pleasant breeze will help avoid too much humidity. The whole Pays Basques offers a great blend of vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, pine forests, traditional villages, towering mountains, contemporary culture and proudly held ancient traditions. There are plenty of brilliant places to see within a short distance of the campsite: places to please the broadest range of ages and appetites! Beaches From challenging, world-class surfing to sheltered waters in family-friendly coves, there are busy, high-summer hangouts and away-from-it-all stretches that go on for miles close by. All kinds of beaches for all kinds of people. Culture They do things differently in the Basque Country, whether it’s food, sports, language or even their villages, this part of north-east Spain and south-west France is as unique as it is vibrant. Ten minutes from the site is the beautiful St Jean De Luz. The vibrant cities of San Sebastian and Biarritz are also only 20 minutes from the site in opposite directions. Cycling Pottering about, powering up the Pyrenees with a green jersey in mind, or tackling pine-forest trails: cycling of all kinds can be found in the Basque Country. Walking/hiking Whether you've got your eye on a distant peak or a riverside stroll to a picnic spot, the whole area is rich with eye-catching opportunities to put one foot in front of the other.
