Bag a hol at Camping Les Myrtilles to be in magnifique proximity to the best of this beaut Brittany department and its surrounds, including coast and forest, biking and fishing, island boat trips and the ancient settlements of Quimper and Concarneau. Beaucoup beaches and boat trips first? Les Myrtilles is 10 minutes' drive from the spectacular white sandy beach of Kerleven, the sheltered one-kilometre stretch at at local seaside setting La Forêt Fouesnant. The town's also the starting point for boat trips to the Glénan islands off Finistère's south coast, a lush archipelago where you can access sailing and diving schools as well as France’s smallest nature reserve. And after beaches and boat trips, time to check out your mighty scenic setting. Camping Les Myrtilles is in woodland, with accommodation areas among trees in a handsome and colourful landscape of greenery and flowers. There's plenty of space here for play and promenading, and leisure facilities of all sorts including basketball, volleyball, tennis and pétanque courts as well as a roomy play area with trampoline. If the weather's less than generous, retreat indoors to the TV room and games room to watch the box or play board games or table tennis, or to hook up to the site wifi to find out where in fab Finistère you might fancy having a fab time at next.

Local attractions

Again, beaches and boat trips first... drive coastwards to the sandy beach of Kerleven at the village of La Forêt-Fouesnant, for watersports and sunbathing days, picnics and boat trips out to the white beaches of the Glénan archipelago. Arouund the Glénan isles, a non-profit sailing school is on Bananec Island, giving lessons across all levels in English or French. Around 40 kilometres of signposted walking and cycling trails meander around the coast and countryside just inland from La Forêt-Fouesnant, to wander by your serene solitary self or via a guided tour from the town in July and August. You could also potter around town to see the gardens and flowers along the old harbour, and snap shots from the 16th-century church overlooking the beach. Camping Les Myrtilles is between Concarneau and Quimper, both around 15 minutes' drive away. Both are Brittany must-visits, Concarneau for its Ville Close Old Town reached by a drawbridge from the coast, and Quimper for its Gothic cathedral, another Old Town, and buildings dating back to the 14th century. Pont-Aven, 20 minutes away, is an arty village that inspired arty type Paul Gaugin: ask at the tourist office for the free leaflet detailing local spots where he liked to paint around the area, then pore over works by the École de Pont-Aven in the Poer-Aven fine arts museum.
