Gâvres is a little peninsula of 726 inhabitants which is simply beautiful - especially in the summer time! The ideal starting point for discovering the surrounding cities such as Lorient, Carnac, Groix, Belle-Ile, Quiberon and la Trinité, Camping La Lande is located right by the sea, with direct access to beaches and within walking distance to the local harbor and downtown. What you will experience at La Lande is a laid-back friendly atmosphere and a back-to-nature experience. A warm welcome awaits at La Lande along with a clean and calm campsite with large pitches, a modern purpose-built toilet and separate shower block (renovated in 2013 and 2014), wifi, a relaxation area and a play area for the children. Here you will get the chance to live an authentic experience and to discover protected areas and sites of ecological value in the typical Breton environment. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy the long fine, ysand beaches, explore peaceful sheltered coves, and look for shellfish and little fish. Camping holidays are a great way to relax and unwind and to reconnect with nature. Your experience on the Gâvres peninsula will be a unique one: come and enjoy the cooling spray of the Atlantic Ocean!

Local attractions

From the campsite you have access to a variety of excursions along the coast. If you wish to stay in Gâvres to discover the peninsula, we suggest you take the coastal path, or meander through the downtown alleys, admiring the open sea from the fort of Port-Puns, as well as the marina. This means that you can easily have a go at kayaking, surfing, swimming, sunbathing or fishing. You will even be able to embark on boat excursions from the coast or visit the surroundings. Things to see and do in our region are numerous. You may take little boat trips to Port-Louis to visit the museum of the La Compagnie des Indes (the East India Company) and its fortifications,or go to Lorient to experience the world famous Inter-Celtic Festival. Families will enjoy the zoo at Pont-Scorff near Lorient, while for those who are passionate about history, tradition and legends, we suggest visiting the spectacular standing stones in Carnac. Other islands are accessible from Lorient and Quiberon to discover, such as l’Ile de Groix or Belle-Ile.
