  • Family-friendly south Brittany site on the Gulf of Morbihan
  • Green and peaceful setting a 200-metre stroll from the sea
  • Heated pool, playground with climbing wall and games room with library
Actually, that magnif pool in a green and peaceful Brittany setting would be tiptop reason enough to stay at Camping Lann Brick. But. It's only an easy amble of 200 metres from this Gulf of Morbihan site to the sea of the Locmariaquer peninsula, and a mere two kilometres from the popular and scenic seaside town of La Trinité-sur-Mer… and then there's Carnac, Crac'h, Quiberon and the highlights of Locmariaquer including its oysters and ancient megaliths… The friendly Lann Brick team can give you info on it all and on what to see and do in the area at the welcome tea and coffee morning every Sunday at 10, where you can also find out what's on offer on site that week (regular leisure activities and theme nights are run in high season). The Lann Brick pool is of excellent size if you want to spend long hours splashing around, and includes a paddling pool for kids to splish around safely. Also on site are a playground with climbing wall and slide, and a roomy games room with TV, table football, darts, a pinball machine, and a library corner with books and magazines. Bike hire is available for all sizes, to take out around the grounds or off along the gulf. Lann Brick also has a snack bar and a grocery shop, open in July and August. Bread and pastries can be ordered daily in high season, to pick up the next morning.

Local attractions

Camping Lann Brick's chunk of the Gulf of Morbihan is famed for its oysters (available to sample in the Locmariaquer seafood restaurants, natch) and for the three Megaliths of Locmariaquer (the Grand Menhir brisé, the Dolmen de la Table des Marchand and the Tumulus d'Er Grah de Locmariaquer), dating back around 7,000 years. Carnac 10 kilometres from Locmariaquer is another Morbihan place famed for its mighty megalithic stones: the 3,000 rocks here make up the biggest prehistoric site in the world. Not as old but very much needing a look while you're in this part of Brittany are nearby Quiberon, home of La maison du Patrimoine regional museum, and Auray, with its historical centre high on a hill overlooking the gulf (a bus runs between Quiberon and Auray in summer). Nearby La Trinité-sur-Mer is a famed seaside and thalassotherapy centre with several beaches, a big fish market, many a seafood restaurant, and a departure point for boat trips around the Gulf of Morbihan and its islands.
